Structural Design for Electron Beam furnaces:

Electron Beam melting provides the user with a proven refining technology for a wide range

of specialty metals.

The furnace atmosphere is relatively close to atmospheric pressure, loss of volatile elements is

minimal. These furnaces melt both reactive and refractory metals.

Electron Beam Like our Plasma Technology, E-Beam hearth furnaces are used to produce

rotating parts for the aviation and land-based turbine industries, standard parts for other

uses as well as refining and consolidation of refractory and reactive metals.





• The objective of this structural development is to support the customer in

Structural Design , Model Support & FEA analysis.

• Placing Electron Beam Melting chamber and its accessories over the structural frame and also the

rail is also placed on the structural for to move the withdrawal cart.

Objectives :

• Given Assembly model of Electron Beam Melting chamber, Withdrawal chamber, Feeders and pit.

• Rough hand sketch for position dimension and maintaining height from top of the Lid cart trolley and

bottom surface of the melting chamber lid from the ground floor level.





Task Executed :

• Design structural for operational and safety based.

• Selection of perfect material thickness and given suitable weld thickness for more stiffness provided for

safety design and applied the design economical and simple.

• Design calculations and preparation of detailed structural drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of

materials inline with international standards

• Preparation of design basis and standard drawings.

• Preparation of technical specifications.

• Preparation of design Calculations Preparation of data sheets for mechanical equipments.

• Preparation of requisition for mechanical equipments – for enquiry and order.

• Preparation of fabrication drawings and materials Technical bid evaluation of vendor offers and

technical recommendations Review and approval of vendor drawings.

• Design calculations and preparation of detailed structural drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of

materials inline with international standards for:
