DEMOLITION GENERAL NOTES

1. AIA GENERAL CONDITIONS A-201 1997 OR CURRENT ISSUE IS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE.

2. SCOPE:A. REMOVE THE ENTIRE BUILDING DESIGNATED "CASSADY" DOWN

TO TOP OF EXISTING SLAB. REMOVE EXTERIOR WALLS TO TOP OF EXISTING SLAB; RETAIN FOUNDATION WALLS, FOOTINGS, CONCRETE LOADING DOCK, AND SLAB-ON-GRADE.

B. REMOVE OTHER ITEMS INDICATED FOR SALVAGE AND RELOCATION. COORDINATE REMOVAL SEQUENCE WITH OWNER OCCUPATION SCHEDULE.

C. FILL EXCAVATIONS, OPEN PITS, AND HOLES IN GROUND AREAS GENERATED AS RESULT OF REMOVALS, USING SPECIFIED FILL; COMPACT FILL AS REQUIRED SO THAT REQUIRED ROUGH GRADE ELEVATIONS DO NOT SUBSIDE WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER COMPLETION.

3. GENERAL PROCEDURES AND PROJECT CONDITIONSA. COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE CODES AND REGULATIONS FOR

DEMOLITION OPERATIONS AND SAFETY OF ADJACENT STRUCTURES AND THE PUBLIC.a. OBTAIN REQUIRED PERMITS.b. TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT CATASTROPHIC OR

UNCONTROLLED COLLAPSE OF STRUCTURES TO BE REMOVED; DO NOT ALLOW WORKER OR PUBLIC ACCESS WITHIN RANGE OF POTENTIAL COLLAPSE OF UNSTABLE STRUCTURES.

c. PROVIDE, ERECT, AND MAINTAIN TEMPORARY BARRIERS AND SECURITY DEVICES.

d. USE PHYSICAL BARRIERS TO PREVENT ACCESS TO AREAS THAT COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO WORKERS OR THE PUBLIC.

e. CONDUCT OPERATIONS TO MINIMIZE EFFECTS ON AND INTERFERENCE WITH ADJACENT STRUCTURES AND OCCUPANTS.

f. DO NOT CLOSE OR OBSTRUCT ROADWAYS OR SIDEWALKS WITHOUT PERMIT.

g. CONDUCT OPERATIONS TO MINIMIZE OBSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTRANCES AND EXITS; DO NOT OBSTRUCT REQUIRED EXITS AT ANY TIME; PROTECT PERSONS USING ENTRANCES AND EXITS FROM REMOVAL OPERATIONS.

h. OBTAIN WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM OWNERS OF ADJACENT PROPERTIES WHEN DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT WILL TRAVERSE, INFRINGE UPON OR LIMIT ACCESS TO THEIR PROPERTY.

4. EXISTING UTILITIESA. COORDINATE WORK WITH UTILITY COMPANIES; NOTIFY

BEFORE STARTING WORK AND COMPLY WITH THEIR REQUIREMENTS; OBTAIN REQUIRED PERMITS.

DUTY TO INSPECT CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PRIOR

TO STARTING WORK :

these Construction Documents shall, before beginning

any work, be responsible for fully inspecting the complete

set of Contract Documents, including all Drawings,

Specifications, and Addenda, for completeness, conflicts,

scope of work, and suitability for constructing the

building. All parties relying on these documents represent

that they have expertise in the area of their responsibility

and are knowledgeable regarding industry standards,

product requirements and code requirements and

therefore are qualified to fully evaluate and interpret the

contract documents. All parties relying on these

documents must, prior to beginning work, submit all

requests for clarifications and additional information to

the Architect in writing. All parties who begin work

hereby certify that the documents are suitable for

their intended purposes unless noted in specific

written exception beforehand.
