Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers,
This week has been highlighted by the great work from students across our school. Many of
our Year 5 and 6 students presented speeches to their classes on Monday as part of their
applications for the Student Representative Council (SRC). Congratulations to all of the
students who applied for these roles, the response was very positive, with high quality
applications. Congratulations to Chadd McCoy, Chloe Hobbs, Alena Goldback-Eggert,
Kayden Griffey, Holly Daniels and Logan Kariko who were successful with their SRC
applications and voted in by their peers. House Captains and Vice Captains will be elected
this week during house meetings. These students will be formally presented during our
Week 5 Whole School Assembly.
Personal Learning Plans will be sent home for all students in Transition to Year 6 on Monday
23rd February. Students have worked closely with their teachers to set personal targets for
this semester. Please review these carefully with your child, provide feedback and make
changes where necessary and sign and return by Friday 13th March. Teachers will be
available for you to make an appointment to further discuss your child’s progress / goals.
A reminder that next week we will be holding our Meet and Greet evening:
Meet and Greet
Wednesday 25th February
5pm – 6pm This is an important opportunity for you to be able to visit your child’s class, see the work
they have begun, experience their learning environments and to meet with their teachers.
We look forward to seeing you there!
There will be a BBQ available during the Meet and Greet evening (Wednesday 25th
February 5pm – 6pm), with sausages in bread for sale for a gold coin donation. All
proceeds will be used to support our school choir students. We thank Clontarf and
Brumby’s Katherine for their support with this fundraising.
Following the Meet and Greet evening, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting and
first School Council meeting for the year. This will be from 6pm in the school library.
Assembly Changes: Please note that this week there will be no Primary Years Assembly
(Years 3 – 6) due to the swimming program. The Early Years
Assembly (Preschool – Year 2) will be held as per normal on Friday
at 8:30am. Our Week 5 Whole School Assembly will be held on Friday 27th February at 1:45pm to
present our new school leaders.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

School Photo Day
This week we are speaking about the 4 key values which we have seen so many people showing around our school. We have seen people showing pride , we have seen people showing respect and we have seen people showing responsibility. But we want to talk about one value in particular and that one is inclusion . Over the last few weeks we have been seeing more people showing inclusion than any other value. Students have started to play cricket and also students have started to play touch. They have been playing games. They have been having their own little parties and talking together. And in the games we have seen the students always say yes to people who want to play. This is inclusion, so let’s keep it up and keep showing our values. We will be watching out for a different value to report on at the next whole school assembly. Thank-you for listening everyone.

A message from the bus company
Please remind all Students and Parents that they are not to be picked up from the Bus Interchange.
Since returning to School this year, we have had several vehicles at the Interchange to pick up students.
This is not acceptable. Please also remind Students that they are not to just jump on any bus and joy ride to the Interchange.
Buses 7 & 8 will return to the High School after the Interchange.
There have been students consistently on Bus 2, riding to the Interchange to catch other buses, this is unacceptable as bus 2 needs to pick up at Clyde Fenton School before the Interchange, and if there is not enough room on bus 2 to pick these students up, then the High school students will be left at Clyde Fenton.
CLASSROOM OPEN DAY– WEDNESDAY!
From the School Council…From the School Council…From the School Council…From the School Council… Did you know? Research shows that active and successful involvement of parents in schools is associated with
improvements for kids across a range of indicators,
including:
• better education outcomes
• enhanced engagement with school work
• more regular school attendance
• better behavior
and increased social skills.
As a parent or carer you can support your child’s
education in a number of different ways:
participate in school council and influence the way
your child’s school is run
reading with your child in class
help with fundraising
or speak to your child’s teacher about other in and or
out of classroom options available
Taking the time to be involved in your child’s education
not only allows you to ensure your child is receiving the
quality education he or she deserves, but also shows
your child how important their school success is to your family.
The earlier you become involved, the better it is for your
children. When schools and families work together,
children do better and stay in school longer.
We want you! The CSPS School Council members look
forward to meeting some new parents and carers at the
Annual General Meeting and first School Council
meeting for 2015 - Wednesday February 25th 6pm. All
welcome!
See you then, Sara Potter (Chairperson), Mother of Leo, Arch,
Ella and Zoe Howard
