Handicap Elderly Lookout Program is de- signed for our department to keep contact with handicap and elderly cizens within our parish. A deputy within the department makes roune calls to cizens who sign up for this program mak - ing verbal welfare checks. If no contact is made Megan will call the emergency contact for the cit - izen. If no contact is made with the emergency contact, a deputy will respond to the address of the cizen in order to make a welfare check. If you feel that you qualify for this program, or have a family member who does, please call our office and ask to speak with Megan at 318-744-5411 ext. 105 in order to sign up. According to Ellis Boothe, Parish Director of Homeland Security, mobile COVID-19 tesng will resume again aſter the recent increase in cases in Louisiana and many states across the naon. All tesng at each site will be from 8:00 am -11:00 am, providing weather permits. The COVID 19 Mobile Test Schedule from the LA. Monday, August 3, 2020- Old Harrisonburg School , 800 Bushley St..Harrisonburg. Friday, August 7, 2020- Naonal Guard Ar - mory, 610 Dorothy St. Jonesville, La. Boothe stated, “This the latest tesng sched- ule that my office has received from the La. DHH. As of the July 24, 2020 report there was 237 cas- es in Catahoula Parish; of this number there has been only 84 real Catahoula Parish cases report - ed since April 1, 2020. 14 of this number were retested residents that had tested posive and then test again. This number also includes the three deaths in the beginning of the virus pan- demic.” Boothe went on to say, “Starng next week, the La. DHH is supposed to start a new process on the number of acve cases in each parish, such as take off residents that have re- covered from the COVID19 and only count the residents that have tested posive in the last 21 days. This has been a very hard problem for my office to keep the numbers as right as possible with the inaccurate data that has been provid- ed by the state. Registrar Rutledge stated, “On the ballot is Parish wide Proposion (Sales Tax Renewal), Consolidated School District No. 1 Proposion (Tax Connuaon), and Consolidated School Dis- trict No. 2 Proposion (Tax Connuaon). Every votes counts and Rutledge encourages everyone to vote early if you will be able to vote in the November primary elecon. Boat access to Lit- tle River is at Trinity Four Rivers Park less than one mile away. Boats can be docked at the RV park. Recent COVID cases prompts more testing

On July 1, 2020, Sheriff Edwards implement-ed a new program within the department called H.E.L.P. Handicap Elderly Lookout Program is de-signed for our department to keep contact with handicap and elderly citizens within our parish. A deputy within the department makes routine calls to citizens who sign up for this program mak-ing verbal welfare checks. If no contact is made

If you feel that you qualify for this program, or have a family member who does, please call our office and ask to speak with Megan at 318-744-5411 ext. 105 in order to sign up.
