• Being beyond the age of compulsory high school attendance as prescribed by Utah law (See Rule 152-34-4(3) of the Utah Administrative Code).

Students are encouraged to follow the guidelines outlined below to get the most out of their Helio Training courses: Preparation

§ Review the course agenda, and set your personal goals

It is important that you spend time thinking about your goals for your training, and that you also discuss those goals with your manager. Determine what changes in your knowledge or skills are expected, and how you are expected to apply what you learn in your training.

Participation

§ Arrive on time

We will cover a lot of material and starting on time will be critical to our success in accomplishing all our learning goals and outcomes.

§ Stay for the entire training

Many of the concepts discussed will build on one another as we progress, so missing parts of the training will make it difficult to catch back up. We encourage you to attend the entire training.

§ Eliminate distractions

Just as physically missing training impacts your learning, so can mentally focusing elsewhere. Try to avoid email, texting, social media, etc. during your training.

§ Be prepared to “do”

Our training style is hands on. Be ready to jump in, ask questions, and play with the systems we are discussing. This will help you understand and retain more information more quickly.

Standards of Progress Helio Training uses a competency based learning approach, serving students by providing a pass/fail system of grading; a passing assignment indicates a code assignment executes and a fail indicates the code did not execute. Each assignment may be submitted up to three times. Academic progress is tracked objectively by course mentors and instructors.

Attendance/Course Completion Policy

To earn a Certificate of Completion a student must maintain 90% attendance and complete 70% of required assignments by course end. Make-up sessions may be permitted on a case-by-case basis. If the student fails to achieve a Certificate of Completion, it may be possible to retake as outlined under the Retake and Shadow Policies.

Page 10: Catalog 2019 (2) - Helio Training · UI/UX Design / Part-time User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) designers are increasingly needed on all development teams. They don’t just

10

Certificate of Proficiency

Students must prove they have completed the outlined competencies and assignments applicable to the course being taken. Proficiency Certification can be obtained for up to six months after course completion; as approved, tracked and facilitated by academic instructors and mentors.

Course Shadowing

Upon successfully completing some of the Helio Training bootcamps. You may retake the eligible courses as seen below, at any time over the next year to re-sharpen your skills and recommit to these technologies to memory. You must have received a Certification of Completion to be eligible.

Helio Training makes no guarantee or promise of the quality, nature or duration of employment its students or graduates might obtain, or of any particular or minimum salaries, wages, or compensation its students or graduates might receive.

Reimbursement This Tuition Reimbursement Guarantee is limited only to tuition actually paid to Helio Training in connection with a full-stack web development course or courses.

charges, collections costs, books, activity fees, tuition paid in connection with other Helio Training courses, or other expenses are eligible for refund under this Tuition Reimbursement Guarantee.

• Any refund of tuition made under this Tuition Reimbursement Guarantee must be made to the person or persons who paid the tuition to Helio Training. If a parent, company, or other third party paid a student’s tuition on behalf of the student, and the student seeks a refund of the tuition paid, then any such refund must be returned to that same parent, company, or other third party who actually paid the student’s tuition and shall not be paid to the student directly.

To receive any reimbursement of tuition under this Tuition Reimbursement Guarantee, graduates must satisfy all eligibility and other requirements, described above. Additionally, no reimbursements, promises, or guarantees are made with regard to the following:

• “Buyer’s remorse” or any other reason other than not being able to obtain employment within 180 days after
