S e e h o w w e S t a c k U p !We’ve put our hose to the test against the toughest competitors in the nation using a DIN* Abrasion Tester. In the test, a core sample of blast hose travels across a rotating abrasive cylinder under a constant speed and contact pressure. The volume loss in cubic millimeters determines the wear rating - the lower the score, the longer the hose will last.

A n a t o m y o f a B l a s t H o s eDo you know what your blast hose is made of?

Blast hose is made of three components: the cover, the cord (also known as ply), and the tube.

The cover can vary in thickness depending on other characteristics of the hose. It primarily provides protection fromcutsandtheUVrays(sunlight).Thecoverwilldetermine how a hose behaves in the event of a blowout (i.e. a thinner cover may fail more dramatically), and partially determines the structure, integrity, and rigidity of the hose.

The ply or cord is the back bone of the hose and helps to hold the hose together. It directly determines the rigidity of the hose. However, the number of plies does NOT extend or reduce the life of the hose.

The rubber tube variesinthicknessfrom1/4”to5/16”.It truly determines the length of time the hose will last.

I n c r e a s e P r o d u c t i o nIncrease your production at the nozzle by reducing pressure loss. Keep your blasting system running at its peak performance by monitoring and replacing the nozzle holder and coupling gasket. As the nozzle holder and coupling gaskets break down, the seal between couplings is lost allowing air to bleed out of the line. This lowers the PSI at the nozzle and puts additional wear and tear on the couplings, nozzle holder, and nozzle.

Nylon Blast Hose Coupling

A square hose cut provides a tight flush fit between the blast hose and the coupling shoulder. The fit is the key to avoiding premature wear of the coupling.

Nylon Coupling Hose Gasket

Aluminum or Brass Blast Hose Coupling

Screws should penetrate the tube; however, not protrude beyond the tube. The screw should be tightened until the hose is pulled tight up against the inside of the coupling, eliminating any bulges.

Aluminum or Brass Coupling Hose Gasket

The chart below is designed to help you find the correct fittings and the associated part number for blast hose couplings, nozzle holders, hose gaskets, and nozzle washers for all of the different sizes of blast hose. Simply determine the inner diameter (ID) or outer diameter (OD) of the blast hose that you will be utilizing and the scroll over to the product category that you are looking for (blast hose couplings, gaskets, nozzle holders, or nozzle washers). Each box will provide you with a list of available options for that specific size of blast hose. •Evaluation•Repair&Modernization•ServiceContracts•Training

We tailor our Service Solutions to match the specific needs of our Customers.

M a r c o S e r v i c e

Evaluation

An evaluation of your blast and/or paint equipment gives you the critical information you need to optimize performance and extend the life of your investment. We will work with one of your representatives to listen to your needs, review your current equipment, and then provide a written report of our findings along with any recommendations.

Marco follows a systematic process which enables us to do a comprehensive review of your equipment. We also review the processes used in the operation and maintenance of the equipment to determine if it too is optimized.

The written report will provide you feedback on the performance of your equipment and any recommendations that we see during the evaluation process. Marco will also provide you with any parts and labor information associated with the written report.

Repair & Modernization

Marco can handle everything from on-site or in-house repairs to full blown modernizations on blast and/or paint equipment. We review the situation and consult with you about the best way to handle the issue. It may require an on-site service call or it may be something that should be brought to our Service Center or manufacturing facility.

We also handle things that go well beyond equipment repair. Many times our Customers request a Modernization of their equipment. Extensive needs such as modernizing an existing automated blast room, adding on to an existing paint booth, plural component conversions, or changing the configuration of a blast room requires careful evaluation, planning and execution.

We have the experience and skill set to perform the necessary repair or modernization solution that will provide you with the optimal result.

Steel Grit Hardness Information:

SG Steel Grit: This abrasive hardness is 40 to 51 HRC, and is softer than MG, LG and HG grades

MG Steel Grit: At 47 to 56 HRC, this is slightly harder than SG Grit. It will lose sharpness, though not as rapidly as the SG Grit

LG Steel Grit: At 54 to 61 HRC this product is harder than SG and MG Steel Grit. Typically recommended for air-blast.

HG Steel Grit: With a minimum hardness of 60 HRC it maintains its angularity during operation and provides a cutting (etching) action.
