The “W” in the red columns refers to the “Weight” of the oil at 100°C (212°F.) The “W” in the oil grades (e.g., 10W-30) refers to “Winter” and considers the low temperature properties of the oil.

TUNER SERIESPROPER BREAK-IN OF NEW, RACE AND REBUILT ENGINES INCREASESDURABILITY AND PERFORMANCE.Proper engine break in will produce an engine that achieves maximum power output with theleast amount of oil consumption. A new engine should be broken in using specific guidelinesduring the first few hours. Maxima Break-In Oil should be part of your routine procedure duringthe initial engine run-in time. The focus of breaking in an engine is on the contact between thepiston rings of the engine and the cylinder wall. When the piston rings are broken in or seated,they don’t allow combustion gases to escape the combustion chamber past the piston rings into

the crankcase section of the engine. This lack of "blow-by" keeps your engine running cleaner and cooler by preventing hotcombustion gases and by-products from entering the crankcase. The tighter the piston rings are set in, the longer an engine isexpected to last. Maxima Break-In Oil improves piston ring seal during initial break in and protects cams and lifters from extremeloadsand “welding” caused by severe hot spots.
