That’s partly true because fiberglass is softer and much slower reacting, but we have gone to great lengths to design the soft, slow flex into these rods while still maintaining the sensitivity and lightweight advantage of graphite. Material is only one part of the formula, design is another, and in the case of our crankbait rods, may be the most important. These are specialty casting rods, designed exclusively for crankbaits. In this case, the GL2 Spinnerbait rods feature extra-fast tips that improve accuracy and fish-fighting control and they load effortlessly with more than enough power in the butt-section to move fish away from trouble. It’s a unique combination of tactical advantages that make fishing a spinnerbait effective, yet simple. They are light, sensitive, powerful and dependable. GL2 Swimbait RodsBig baits mean big bass and it takes a special rod to handle them... both of them! We’ve teamed up with hard-core swimbait fanatics, learned from their experiences and applied to our product, what they expect in a good, reliable rod for fishing swimbaits. These new GL2 swimbait rods are made with every little nuance the experts thought would make a better fishing tool. They are designed to fish both soft and hard plastic swimbaits for largemouth bass, really big largemouth bass. The new ergonomic handle design features a magnum split grip to help reduce weight and improve the rod’s balance. The fighting-butt is big enough for an average-sized angler to grasp it firmly and the whole butt-section is extra long so you can tuck the rod butt under your arm rather than having it jab you in the ribs and the extra length also provides leverage to improve casting distance and control, not to mention handling the big bass you’ll be catching. GL2 Flipping Stick RodFlipping is a technical form of heavy-duty “finesse” fishing. Heavy-duty in that you’re using heavy line, a powerful rod and virtually yanking fish out of heavy cover. Finesse in that you have to be stealthy and maintain total control of the bait, the boat and the presentation. It demands a soft, quiet entry, limited boat noise and the ability to put a lure into a small space with every intent of jerking that fish right out that same spot. It’s a lot of fun and especially effective when the fish are in locations where casting a lure is not an option due to heavy cover and they won’t come out to chase it. The length of a flipping stick allows the angler to “swing” soft plastics or jigs into or right next to heavy cover so that they enter the water softly. This allows a vertical presentation so your lure drops straight to the bottom, unlike a lure that is cast and falls toward the angler, missing perimeter zones because they sink at an angle away from the cover. The test here isn’t so much hooking fish as it is landing them! You need a rod that can move a fish quickly, with authority, before it has a chance to wrap you up in the cover. The GL2 Flipping Stick features a 2.5” tapered, round fighting-butt, a comfortable “hour glass-shaped” cork grip with a 3” cork fore-grip. It gives you uncanny balance and line control. That’s partly true because fiberglass is softer and much slower reacting, but we have gone to great lengths to design the soft, slow flex into these rods while still maintaining the sensitivity and lightweight advantage of graphite. Material is only one part of the formula, design is another, and in the case of our crankbait rods, may be the most important. These are specialty casting rods, designed exclusively for crankbaits. We took all of the necessary elements required to make a rod that will fish a crankbait correctly… a soft, more moderate action that’s soft enough to let the lures to work properly and allow the fish to inhale the bait, yet is very light, responsive and sensitive. You gain all of the advantages of graphite with a nice soft action rod that’s a lot lighter than fiberglass and far less tiring to cast over the course of a long day.

GL2 Spinnerbait RodsFor years, one of the most popular lures for bass fishing has been the spinnerbait. It’s extremely versatile, can be fished in multiple water columns and can be fished a number of different ways. You can buzz it, gurgle it, rip it, flutter it, jig it or just plain crank it. Our mantra has always been to make rods that provide anglers with the best actions for the technique or bait they favor. In this case, the GL2 Spinnerbait rods feature extra-fast tips that improve accuracy and fish-fighting control and they load effortlessly with more than enough power in the butt-section to move fish away from trouble. It’s a unique combination of tactical advantages that make fishing a spinnerbait effective, yet simple. They are light, sensitive, powerful and dependable. It’s not just any rod... it’s a very specialized rod made for one application... fishing spinnerbaits. Enough said!

GL2 Swimbait RodsBig baits mean big bass and it takes a special rod to handle them... both of them! We’ve teamed up with hard-core swimbait fanatics, learned from their experiences and applied to our product, what they expect in a good, reliable rod for fishing swimbaits. These new GL2 swimbait rods are made with every little nuance the experts thought would make a better fishing tool. They are designed to fish both soft and hard plastic swimbaits for largemouth bass, really big largemouth bass. The new ergonomic handle design features a magnum split grip to help reduce weight and improve the rod’s balance. The fighting-butt is big enough for an average-sized angler to grasp it firmly and the whole butt-section is extra long so you can tuck the rod butt under your arm rather than having it jab you in the ribs and the extra length also provides leverage to improve casting distance and control, not to mention handling the big bass you’ll be catching. It’s everything you’d ever need in a swimbait rod... don’t forget the net!

GL2 Flipping Stick RodFlipping is a technical form of heavy-duty “finesse” fishing. Heavy-duty in that you’re using heavy line, a powerful rod and virtually yanking fish out of heavy cover. Finesse in that you have to be stealthy and maintain total control of the bait, the boat and the presentation. It demands a soft, quiet entry, limited boat noise and the ability to put a lure into a small space with every intent of jerking that fish right out that same spot. It’s a lot of fun and especially effective when the fish are in locations where casting a lure is not an option due to heavy cover and they won’t come out to chase it. The length of a flipping stick allows the angler to “swing” soft plastics or jigs into or right next to heavy cover so that they enter the water softly. This allows a vertical presentation so your lure drops straight to the bottom, unlike a lure that is cast and falls toward the angler, missing perimeter zones because they sink at an angle away from the cover. The test here isn’t so much hooking fish as it is landing them! You need a rod that can move a fish quickly, with authority, before it has a chance to wrap you up in the cover. The GL2 Flipping Stick features a 2.5” tapered, round fighting-butt, a comfortable “hour glass-shaped” cork grip with a 3” cork fore-grip. It gives you uncanny balance and line control. Dropshotting allows you to concentrate your efforts in those areas where they slow down to rest or stage. It’s a special technique for fishing the holding spots. With a sinker at the end of the line and the hook & bait up on the main line a few inches off the bottom, it’s all about getting them to see the bait dangling there seductively, waiting for their reaction. The beauty of this technique is that it doesn’t take a lot of experience to be successful. The rods are designed with soft tips to allow the fish to inhale the bait without feeling a lot of resistance and when the angler feels the tension or just sees the line jump, all they have to do is raise the rod and the rod will do the rest.
