Culture for every day of the year

Throughout the year, the suggestions for cultural activities mushroom across the whole of Catalonia. There are also very modern events in the programme, such as the Sónar music festival or Sismògraf, the contemporary dance festival in Olot. You can also visit events which have been happening for centuries, such as the Sant Ermengol Fair in Seu d’Urgell and Easter Week in Tortosa.

The best thing is that the diversity in terms of cultural fields on offer is immense. Literary, graphic novel and comic festivals are perfect for the diaries of inveterate readers. Cinema, theatre, circus and dance events and gatherings happen throughout

the year, attracting avid audiences. All manner of markets and fairs fill with buyers and lovers of gastronomy and wine. Historical re-enactments and traditional festivals fill the streets of towns and villages, taking us on a journey back in time. The list of arts, with all musical genres as its headlining act, will feature somewhere in the diary of every single person who comes on holiday to Catalonia.
