THE SPIRITUALITY OF COUNTLESS DAILY ACTS OF LOVE
In the ninth chapter (of “Amoris Laetitia”), Pope Francis states that the spirituality of marriage and family is born of the relationship between spouses, and of those between children and parents; since our Lord is present “in real and concrete families, with all their daily troubles and struggles, joys and hopes”, we can affirm that “the spirituality of family love is made up of thousands of small but real gestures”.
Familial communion, lived in a positive way, is the ordinary path to sanctity for the majority. It is also conducive to a closer union with God. “The fraternal and communal demands of family life are an incentive to growth in openness of heart and thus to an ever fuller encounter with the Lord”.

With the approval of the Board of Consultors, I am pleased to make the following Pastoral Appointments to be effective on 3 July 2017:
Father Neil Lustado is appointed Rector of the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate (Nelson, BC) as well as Pastor of Sacred Heart Mission (Kaslo, BC) and Sacred Heart Mission (Proctor, BC). Father Francis Dela Cruz is appointed Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish (Trail, BC) and Sacred Heart Mission (Salmo, BC). Father Nino Tuyo is appointed Pastor of St. Rita Parish (Fruitvale, BC) and Sacred Heart Parish (Rossland, BC). Father Gabriel Chinnaperiannan is appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish (Grand Forks, BC), Sacred Heart Parish (Greenwood, BC) and Our Lady of the Lakes Mission (Christina Lake, BC). Father Aaron de Dios is appointed Pastor of Canadian Martyrs Parish (Invermere, BC) and St. Joseph Mission (Radium Hot Spring, BC). Father Dominique Trinh Do is appointed Pastor of Christ the King Parish (Oliver, BC), Our Lady of Lourdes Mission (Okanagan Falls, BC) and St. Gregory Mission (Inkameep/Nk’mip Native Reserve). Father Ruben Buela is appointed Pastor of Holy Child Parish (Summerland, BC) and assumes pastoral are of Sacred Heart Mission (Penticton Okanagan Native Reserve). Father Lawrence Kanickaisamy is appointed Pastor of St. Edward Parish (Winfield, BC). Father Cecil Nunez is appointed Pastor of St Francis of Assisi Parish (Revelstoke, BC), Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (Nakusp, BC) and St. John the Baptist Mission (Fauquier, BC). Father Gerald Sekanga is appointed Pastor of St. Pius X, (Kelowna, BC). Father Pat Monette is appointed Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish (Kelowna, BC). Father Cerlouie Jimenez is appointed Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish (Kelowna, BC). Father Bart van Roijen is appointed Pastor of St. Charles Garnier Parish (Kelowna, BC). Other Appointments Father Marcel Coté is assigned to the Catholic Pastoral Centre with special responsibility for the Diocesan Archives (this assignment will take effect November 2017). Other News
Seminarian Salomon Beguel is assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish (Kelowna, BC) for his Pastoral-internship training experience. Father Sebastian Puthenpura has been granted medical leave. Father Conrado Beloso will retire from ministry due to health concerns.

COMMUTER CHALLENGE - June 2nd to 11th there is a Faith Commuter Challenge. The Cathedral is a registered participant and any individual can register to participate and record their method of getting to and from the Cathedral services for any day during that period. Register at greeningsacredspaces.net and click on Commuter Challenge heading. This is a challenge with all faith groups in Canada. Walk, ride, carpool to any church service and register the day, method and kms travelled on the Commuter web site
