REST IN THE LORD. For several weeks we have listened to readings that have recounted just how arduous the work of prophets and disciples can be. In today’s Gospel, the Lord Jesus listens to the reports of those he had sent out “two by two” to minister to the people. After the apostles reported what they had done, Jesus, recognizing their fatigue, says, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile” (Mark 6:31).

Perhaps this is what the Lord is telling his disciples in the year 2018 as well. We need to pause on our journey of discipleship and simply rest in the Lord. Sunday Mass provides many opportunities for quiet times, particularly during the periods of silence following the readings. Why not take the time today to allow the saving word of the Lord to penetrate your heart during those silent times? Ask the Lord to renew you in body, mind, and spirit for the arduous work of discipleship.

TÇÇt `tÜ|x ixÜÇtâ Anna, one of the Parish’s graduating seniors, was presented with a Plaque last Sunday by Father Dennis during the Evening Mass This honor is usually presented to outstanding seniors who served on the Diocesan Evangelization Team (E-Team). It is the highest Diocesan award they can receive from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. Congratulations, Anna!

The Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time ATTENTION ALL PARISHIONERS: Please come to contribute to our Lady of the Lake’s Mission, Vision and Values sessions for the future of our Parish. On Sunday, July

22nd, at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, there will be MAP (Mission Advancement Planning) presenta ons for all parishioners in St Igna us Hall. There will also be presenta ons on July 28th at 6:00 PM and July 29th at 11:30 am in St Igna us Hall. Looking forward seeing you there!

PLEASE HELP WITH OUR

PRAYER LISTS! We need to do some editing of our present Please Keep in Your Prayers Bulletin Page. These names (103) have been submitted by parishioners over the past 2 years and this page stays on the Altar of Sacrifice during our Masses. Many of these names

need to be removed for various reasons but usually only the parishioner that requested the prayers knows the status. Call the Parish Office or leave a note in the Collection Basket if the name is to remain on the list. (PLEASE DO NOT TELL STAFF WHEN THEY ARE AT MASS! We will more than likely forget or lose the note:( At the beginning of August, if we have not heard from anyone about a particular name, they will be deleted. Many thanks for your help with this important ministry! The names will be printed in BOLD & ITALICS when we receive the information. God Bless!

Lighthouse Catholic Ministry Healing the Gender Divide

Calling all adults … in an age when erotic images are used to sell everything from hamburgers to cars, none of us are immune to the effects of pornography. This CD offers practical spiritual advice on how to release the hold that pornography has on those fighting its addiction. But it also provides a glimpse into the window of the psyche of

both genders, leading to greater understanding of our God-given natures and helping to ease the age old tensions between men and women. Jason is an internationally known Catholic author and speaker. He has spoken to more than one million people around the world and is the author of more than a dozen books, including Pure Manhood and Theology of His Body.

The Adoration Chapel is available for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with the use of a code to enter the chapel. The code is available through the parish office. Please make sure you refer to the Adoration

Chapel Etiquette posted in the chapel, on the Parish’s Facebook Page and on the Parish’s website. Thank you for spending time with the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration and Prayer.

MASS INTENTIONS NEEDED FOR ALL MASSES, ESPECIALLY THE WEEKENDS. It is a Catholic custom of long standing to have a Mass celebrated for the repose of the soul of deceased friends

and relatives, in thanksgiving for a prayer answered, or other special intentions. Please contact the Parish Office.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes Phil Morris & Family on the recently passing of his wife, Theresa Morris. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and their loved ones.

If you are experiencing the effects of illness, advanced age, preparing for surgery and seek the healing power of the sacrament you are encouraged to ask Father Dennis to celebrate the Anointing of the Sick with you. You or a family member

can contact the parish office at 803.345.3962 or call Father’s cell phone at 843.834.5447.

All existing Knights and potential NEW Knights (Adult Catholic Males in good standing with the Catholic Church) are invited to attend the Corporate Mass next Sunday, July 22nd, at the 8:00 a.m. Mass, where the Knights will assist in the various ministries.

After this Corporate Mass, they are then invited to join the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Council # 16903 for Breakfast in the Family Life Center.

Rosary Prayed in Church

Before the Vigil Mass on Saturdays and on Sundays before the Evening 5 pm Mass.

Christmas in July Last year we were fortunate to have a Parish family donate the Holy Family Set (Jesus in crib, Mary &

Joseph) and the Gloria Angel to begin our new Nativity Scene in time for the Christmas Season in our beautiful Worship Space. Since then, we have been blessed to receive various pieces to begin filling out the Nativity Scene: the Wise Men (Melchior from a Parish family, Caspar from the Women’s Club, and Balthazar from the Men’s Club); Gabriel the Shepherd from a Parish family; 2 Sheep from a Parish family; and, the Donkey from members of Sister to Sister, Hearts Afire, and the Women’s Club. Fontanini, the vendor from which we purchase the pieces always has 20% off sales throughout the year, which helps when you are purchasing 27-inch figurines. On our wish list for this Christmas is the OX and at least one CAMEL. As the ladies found out who purchased the donkey, small donations add up in a big way. So …. if anyone would like to donate whatever amount they would like towards our NATIVITY ANIMAL FUND, please simply drop your check in the Collection Basket any time between now and Christmas and mark it: NATIVITY ANIMAL FUND. We thank you for your consideration in helping us add to the beauty and reverence of the Season. God bless!
