[email protected] Women of Faith, January 13 Participants will spend this day reflecting on the gifts of five women (Sojourner Truth, Thea Bowman, Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman) whose courageous actions impacted the world. Their fearlessness and faithfulness changed lives because they embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Come and learn about these incredible women; who they were and what they did. Beverly Collin will facilitate this day. Contact Cedar-brake to register or for more information. Transformed by Faith, January 16 We will spend this day reflecting on the gifts of five women whose courageous actions impacted the world (Sojourner Truth, Thea Bowman, Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks and Harriet Tub-man). Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary In Fatima, Our Lady said, “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” On this 100-year Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima, please join thousands of Faithful throughout our Diocese for 33 days of preparation prayer for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. Each day of prayer represents one year in the life of Christ. The prayers begin on February 20th and are done private-ly in our homes using the preparation book, which is available in English and Spanish. Please visit www.TexasToJesusThroughMary.org by January 25th to receive your FREE copy of the Montfort preparation prayer book. Your book will be mailed to you. Following, all are invited to collec-tively make or renew our consecration at a special Holy Mass on March 25th.

Gospel Meditation By believing and obeying, Mary gave birth to the Son of God, and so we call her Mother of God. By responding to the grace of baptism and by our own belief and obedience, Christ is truly present in and through us. This is a great mystery upon which we should constantly reflect. May we constantly look to Mary as a model of discipleship. In this new Year of Grace, “The Lord bless you and keep you.”

Upcoming EIM Workshop St. Ann is once again hosting an Ethics and Integrity Workshop on Saturday, January 28, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Catholic Charities Corner Catholic Charities works to strengthen families who, like the Holy Family, are preparing to welcome a newborn baby into their families. Our Gabriel Project Life Center provides free education and mentoring so that you can give your baby the best start possible through the first two years of life. Call 512-651-6100 (Austin) or 979-822-9340 (Brazos Valley) to sched-ule your appointment.

Adopt a Seminarian Project St. Ann will once again support a young man studying to an-swer the call to the priesthood. His name is Mr. Isaac Oviedo and he is currently at Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas. “What does this mean? What do I do?” As in the past, there will be a sign-up sheet in the entryway for anyone who wishes to help and encourage this young man to answer his call. Some suggestions on how to do is: drop him a note of encouragement, pray for him, say the rosary for him, send him stamps and note cards/stationary to help him keep in touch with family as these young men studying to answer the call are away from family, and of course, a few dollars is always nice. Please consider helping to encourage Isaac to answer his call.
