Dear parishioners,
I want to share with you that we had almost 700 responses to the Survey that
we did two weeks ago regarding “Disciples In Mission.” Thank you again for
taking the time to answer the questions that were addressed to you. You may also want to know that the meeting of the collab-
orative councils of our three parishes and the staff with Fr. Flavin, the Episcopal Vicar, went well. I thank the members of the
councils for your participation and your feed back regarding my leadership as a pastor.
As we begin our Holy Week, let us join Catholics from all the world in celebrating the central mysteries of the Passion, Death
and Resurrection of the Lord. I am very grateful to the parishioners that are working so much to plan the liturgies and events
of these coming holy days. I encourage all of you to participate in the celebrations of this Holy Week: please share with us at
the Masses on Holy Thursday; walk with us on Good Friday on any of our “Way of the Cross” devotions; finally, celebrate
the joy of the Resurrection at the Easter Vigil.
May you all have a blessed Holy Week and a Happy Easter. Pray for me.

Quería compartir con ustedes que recibimos hace dos semanas casi 700 respuestas a la Encuesta sobre "Discípulos en Misión" que hicimos hace dos semanas. Gracias otra vez por tomar su tiempo y responder a la encuesta. También les gustará saber
que el encuentro entre los consejos de nuestras tres parroquias y el personal con el Padre Flavin, el Vicario Episcopal, estu-vo muy bien. Agradezco a los miembros de los consejos por su participación y su opinión sobre la calidad de mi liderazgo
como párroco.
Al comenzar la Semana Santa, unámonos a los católicos de todo el mundo para celebrar los misterios centrales de la Pasión, la Muerte y la Resurrección del Señor. Estoy muy agradecido por los feligreses que están trabajando tanto para planear las
liturgias y los eventos de estos próximos días santos. Les animo a todos a participar en las celebraciones de esta Semana Santa: por favor, comparta con nosotros en las Misas del Jueves Santo; camine con nosotros el Viernes Santo en cualquiera
de nuestras devociones del "Camino de la Cruz"; y finalmente, celebre la alegría de la Resurrección en la Vigilia Pascual.

Visit to Pine Street Inn's Shattuck Shelter We will be visiting the Shattuck Shelter this Thursday April
18 to bring and serve dessert. We welcome any dessert and
snack donations – homemade or store bought. Please leave
them in the side door vestibule of the rectory anytime by
6:00 PM on the day of our visit. If you are interested in joi-
ning us on our visits, you must be at least 18, and complete

Rice Bowls: If your family does not already have a Lenten Rice Bowl at home, please pick one up at the back of the church to collect your family Lenten donations for Catholic Relief Services (CRS). CRS works throughout the world providing international relief and development, immigration legal services, refugee resettlement and advocating for jus-tice, peace and human development. More information about CRS is available along with the Rice Bowls. The Rice Bowls will be collected at the Mass on Holy Thursday. Thank you for your generosity. Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) New England is cel-
ebrating its 2019 Madonna Della Strada Award Cere-
mony at Boston College High School on Sunday,
April 28, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This year’s hon-
orees include St. Mary of the Angels parishioners
Kitty Ryan and Joe Vallely.
The evening begins with Mass celebrated by Father
Ken Hughes, SJ. Reception, dinner and award cere-
mony follow. The cost of the evening is $100. Some
discounted seats are available.
This is the annual IVC New England fundraiser.
Please come and celebrate the lives of Kitty and Joe,
Sister Angela Daniels, CP (Providence), and Frank

Growing up on the edge of poverty, Hector wrestled with homelessness, and was struggling to find food. While playing basketball in a local Church league, he met Fr. Paul O’Brien, who encouraged him to go to college.
Fr. Paul was there for Hector at every step of his journey to college and beyond. With his help and guidance, Hector went on to play basketball for Regis College, graduate, and now works as a school counselor to give back to students the same hope and inspiration he received. Like Fr. Paul, our senior priests in good standing have been helping others for decades.
As we celebrate this Easter with our families and friends, please remember the Boston priests who have helped us along our life journey and consider making a gift of thanks to the special Easter collection for their health and retirement needs.
Funds from this special collection are managed by the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust – an independently managed trust with a majority lay board of trustees. The funds are used for the sole benefit of active and senior priests in good standing.
