● Costruction and Accomodations:  This boat is stronger than other yachts. It is built of steel and derived from the design

of a work craft with an identity as an ocean-going tug. For the construction of the hull, steels with a thickness of 9.5 mm

have been used. The bulkheads too are made of steel 9.5 mm thick, while the interiors are carefully decorated, in keeping

with the style of the time, with precious wood on the ceilings, and used in the floor and furniture. Wide spaces have been

obtained between the bulkheads, so that from these, for example, was born a large lounge with comfortable sofas, Hi.Fi

system and satellite television. The cabins, especially the ship owner’s, provide all kinds of comfort, the kitchen is

impeccable, all services are available to make more pleasant your cruise aboard Catriel. Each cabin is spacious, has its

own bathroom including toilet and shower, radio installation and CD player for those who want to listen to their own

music, or by sound cable radio BTicino. All cabins are equipped with air conditioning system, and you can adjust your

own level of comfort by means of specially provided thermostats. The upper deck, spacious and scenic, is panelled in

precious wood, and can accommodate you for your happy hour or rather to give you a few hours of sun in complete

freedom and undisturbed. While the aft deck, with its large space, can be the meeting place for lunches and dinners with a

view on the sea. Security aboard Catriel  comes first. Every year, a very careful check is carried out on all emergency

systems, alarms and all parts of the hull. The fire protection system used is HI-FOG. The navigation endurance of Catriel

motor yacht is guaranteed by 2 Volvo Penta engines of 450 of horsepower each, and by 31 thousand litres of fuel, which is

enough to cover 4,000 sea miles

● Description: Catriel was built in 1962 by  SANCHEZ srl shipyard in  Buenos Aires as a High seas tugboat  for the

Argentina oil company YPF  In  2004 she was found in poor maintenance conditions in Buenos Aires Harbour  by the

actual owner who fell in love with it and decided to convert it  into a Ocean going yacht maintaining the working vessel

features The refit was held by  Atillero Tecnao srl Buenos Aires under direction of the owner and his Italian consultants.

Catriel sailed on his own directly from Argentina to Italy.

● Asking Price: 2.500.000

● History:  The name Catriel derives from the Indios Mapuche’s family, original inhabitants and lords of Sierras Bayas, on

the outskirts of the modern Buenos Aires. The history of Sierras Bayas lives in the memory of every single inhabitant of

the place, in the conservation of its ancient buildings, and in the charming witnesses of its past. Among its mountains you

can still listen to the cries of its courageous and brave Catrieles, the natives who defended this land. He history: from Port

Boca in Buenos Aires to Porto Antico in Genova The Catriel was built in 1962 in Sanchez Shipyard, Buenos Aires, by

order of YPF, an Argentine oil company, who needed a deep-sea steam towboat. In 1999 she was bought by an Argentine

shipping company and used as a cargo boat on the Paranà river: the transports were then reduced because of the economic

recession which afflicted the Country. In 2004 someone noticed the Catriel, which was, by that time, abandoned in

Buenos Aires. It was the present ship-owner who, charmed by her elegant and classical shapes, decided to buy her and to

transform her into a yacht. After a preliminary study of the feasibility of the project, repair and modernization works

started with the aim to maintain the original structural features of the deep-sea towboat. Repair works were entrusted to

Tecnao srl, a shipyard in Buenos Aires under the direction of the current ship owner; a great many materials and structures

came from Italy. March 3rd, 2007: repair works of structural parts were finished and the Cartriel made the first voyage of

her new life navigating the Paranà river, from Buenos Aires up to Iguazù waterfalls and from there back to Buenos Aires.

She covered about 1,800 miles under the command of Captain Gabriel Simonini and his crew. In December 2007 the

Catriel was ready to cross the Atlantic. Repair works were finished (only internal detail finishes were missing) so she

sailed from Buenos Aires. She covered more than 7,000 sea miles, and docked in Porto Antico, without the slightest

problem after 35 days of sea voyage.
