The Grad Night Committee has held many fundraisers to offset the nearly $40,000 cost of the senior lock-in. We rely on all CP families to help us raise funds for this event. We strive to make it a very memorable, fun lock-in for our seniors, while at the same time keeping ticket prices affordable enough to encourage all graduates to be able to attend, have a fun-filled night, and be safe graduation night. All CP Families, please pay it forward to honor our sen-iors and support CP Grad Night!

GRADNIGHT: Senior Class Lock-In June 1st-2nd. at Main Event. Registration forms can be found at cpgradnight.org Not sure if you have paid for your Senior yet? Email [email protected]

This coming week on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13th our

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores will be participating in the “Shattered

Lives” program.

The program is designed to stress the consequences of poor decision

making by having students create their own scenario regarding their

death. The program is designed to impress upon teenagers that death is

very real for persons their age and that they are NOT immortal. Our

freshman will be participating in a separate activity on these days.

We hope this opens up a dialog with your students in regards to choice

making when driving.

Save The Date!!

On Thursday April 20th, the College

Park Counseling Staff, in conjunction

with The Woodlands Counseling Staff, is excited to co-

host College Knowledge.

This event begins at 6:30pm at The Woodlands High

School. We want to encourage all College Park juniors

and their parents to attend this informative night. Col-

lege representatives will be addressing issues of im-

portance in college admissions. This is not a college

fair, but a chance to hear from the experts about topics

that are specific to juniors and the process of applying

to college. This event has been completely redesigned

for this year's juniors. It's going to be fantastic! Some

of our topics will include: Texas Public School Admis-

sions, Athletic Recruitment, Engineering, Applying as

an International Student, Fine Arts Applications, Out of

State Admissions, Competitive/Selective Admissions and

several more!

Continue to watch the newsletter and emails from your

counselors for announcements concerning this very

important evening!

We hope to see you there!

SPRING SEMESTER

The spring semester can be fast and furious. There are

so many activities and events that occur, it is often-

times hard to keep track of what needs to be complet-

ed when.

If you have a 9th grader, they should really be focus-

ing on their academics and doing to best they can in

their classes. Ninth grade year classes are the founda-

tion for each student’s transcript.

If you have a 10th grader, they should be doing the

same. Each 9th and 10th grade student is in the pro-

cess of being called down by their counselor to have

an individual conference. During these conferences

credits and course selection are being discussed.

If you have a current 11th grader, the spring semester

is the time to take either the SAT or ACT if they have-

n’t already.

If you have a senior, they should be applying for

scholarships and making sure they are doing well in

their classes.

This is a busy time for all. Please reach out to your

child’s counselor if you ever have questions. We are

here to help!
