8-Port DS3 Subrate Frame Relay/IP Modulefor the CBX 500® and CBX 3500™

Multiservice Switches

The 8-Port DS3 Subrate Frame Relay/IP Module adds higher port density and subrate servicecapabilities to the 6-Port DS3 Frame Relay/IP Module. You can use this module to create acost-effective, easy-to-manage solution for offering frame relay access in various speedsbetween DS1 and DS3. The module’s subrate service interoperates with popular proprietaryCSU/DSUs, including equipment from Verilink®, Kentrox®, Quick Eagle Networks™ andLarscom™. The module’s subrate solution also supports Maintenance Data Link so you candeliver flexible bandwidth services quickly and benefit from greater control over servicereliability and ongoing operations while generating revenue opportunities.

Applications• Offer high-density, high-speed

broadband Frame Relay accessservices at bandwidth ratesbetween DS1 and DS3 utilizingsubrate functionality

• Provide high-speed Frame Relay/IP services to Internet serviceproviders and large enterprises

• Support secure IP VPN services

• Build high-speed backbone links tosupport mission-critical applications

• Support IP Forwarding

Features• Local Forwarding Engine (FE)

provides IP routing for all cell-based and frame-based IP traffic

• Standards-based Frame Relay toATM interworking

• QoS through Lucent Priority Frame™

• Fault tolerance through PriorityRerouting and Resilient NNI

• Software-configurable ports

• Integrated CSU/DSU

• BERT pattern, C-Bit Parity Format, and per-port user or trunkprovisioning
