有兩種東西，只要越是經常與持續地對它們反思，就越有更新與更多的驚訝與敬畏充滿我的心境，那就是：在我之上星辰運行的天空，以及在我之內道德的律則。

當一個object的客觀性質與subject的心理特質對上了，就出現喜歡
但是關於「覺得美」並非如此：
“… it is not a causal relation between objective facts (about the object) and objective facts (about the one who judges).” (p.59)

美的判斷具有無私趣性
Dis-interest-ed-ness
1. 我覺得美不只是我個人的事（但我喜歡則是我個人的事）
2. 「我覺得它美」同時意謂著你也應該會有同樣的感覺（但我喜歡它並不意謂你也應該同樣喜歡它）
3. 覺得美所產生的愉悅並非出自於我個人的特殊性（但喜好所產生愉悅與個人的特殊性有關）

康德認為「覺得美」的基礎是一種普遍的人性而非個人的特質，但喜歡的原因則是個人的特質
所以當我做審美判斷時，我反而要抽離我的個人特質，不存任何主觀的好惡
Disinterestedness 並不是不感興趣，而是不建立在個人的特殊嗜好上，所以中文把它譯為「私趣」

休姆與康德的比較
休姆雖然認為審美與喜歡不能區分（都是人的品味），卻相信品味是客觀的（objective），有高下之別，因為品味來自客體（object）
康德認為審美與喜歡不同：喜歡來自「私趣」；但審美卻是普遍的。審美之所以為普遍的原因，卻是因為它來自主體（subject），是主觀的（subjective）

“It is a purely subjective judgement, a judgement occasionedby the object but not about it.” (p. 60)
Cause：因果關係
Occasion：非因果關係（“it serve as a catalyst…”）

我可以在審美過程中知道審美的對象是什麼，但我的審美判斷與這個知識無關

審美：無私趣，不用概念，得到愉悅
認知：無私趣，要用概念，得到知識
道德：追求善，有私趣，得到愉悅
欲望：追求爽，有私趣，得到愉悅

我不需要知道它們是牡丹花，甚至不需要知道它們花
我不需要從它們實現道德目的，例如保護生態環境
我不需要從它們實現物質利益，例如賣錢
我只要看花海，聞花香，就會心曠神怡

審美判斷的主體性
“The best sense one can make of it is that the qualities I refer to, in speaking about the object, are not, properly speaking, its properties, but constructs of my own imagination, my own play of faculties.” (p. 62)

審美判斷是一種「反思判斷」reflective judgement，而不是一種「確定判斷」determining judgement
確定判斷：為一個特殊者（a particular）尋找到一個普遍者（a universal，例如一個概念）的判斷
反思判斷：找不到一個可以給特殊者歸屬的普遍者，所做的判斷
這裡Herwitz告訴我們：反思判斷之所以為reflective，是因為它是返回到主體自我的判斷

對康德美學的進一步批評 （p. 62）：無法確切區別
1. Pleasure caused by the flower
2. Pleasure generated within myself around the flower
Herwitz 說：畢竟喜歡與覺得美並不是完全不同的範疇

Herwitz認為康德這種主體性美學具有道德的理由（moral reasons），那就是審美判斷是一種反思判斷，然後舉例說：
“When I tell a joke the pleasure I take in laughing is not simply in the punch line, but in the making of it. My laughter is rounded out by my self-satisfaction in devising it.” (p. 63)
真的是這樣嗎？

“What is being shared, in sharing a joke or work of art, is the pleasure in the making of it, not simply the representation it conveys, or the quality of its forms.” (p.63)
