    Singapore is a country which is home to three main races3 namely )hinese3 0alay and Indian+

    9herefore3 racial harmony is critical in maintaining good relations between races in

    Singapore+ Interestingly3 the emergence of Singlish comes with the success of efforts in

    facilitating racial integration in Singapore+

    9he group of respondents of my research will be ac>uainted Singaporean friends of

    different race whom I have not met for at least 5 years+

    I will be conducting two research methods3 to comprehend how the type of Singlish used

    will affect the conversation and the sense of connection between the respondents and me+

    9he two research methods I will be using are the social e4periment and an informal

    interview+ ue to the time constraints3 I will be doing the research on #% different

    %' Conclusion

    *s Singlish is highly discouraged in Singapore=s education3 many tend to overloo: the

    importance of Singlish in our society+ Singlish smoothens the relationships between

    different races3 cohesion among family and friends3 and that is what Singapore needs to

    prioritiGe3 which is racial integration+ Singlish has become a language of identity@ where

    everyone shares the same language among different races and cultures today+

    9hrough this research3 the measurement of impact Singlish has over the community will

    determine if cohesion among different races can be long'lasting3 and that will shape our

    identity in Singapore for years to come+
