AALLGGOONNAA — The BishopGarrigan Danz Squadcompeted in the Iowa StateDance ChampionshipsDec. 4-5, at Vets Auditori-um and HyVee Hall, DesMoines.
Bishop Garrigan com-peted in class 3, hip hopand pom. The Garrigandancers earned the title of“State Champions” in bothof their categories. Theyalso earned the prestigioustitle of “Judges ChoiceAward.” This is the greatestof all titles given out at thestate championships, and
is determined by 13 judges,from across the UnitedStates, who vote on thebest routine of the entirecompetition. This is thesecond time in history thatthe BGHS squad has beengiven this award. Twoyears ago the squad alsoearned this award for their“Wind It Up” routine.
The Bishop-Garrigansquad also earned an Aca-demic Award for highestaccumulative team gradepoint average, out of all thesquads competing, with aGPA of 3.86.
