President’s Message
Greetings to all CVLLC Lions and CV Leos,
We had a very successful luau. Attending were 19 CVLLC Lions, 1 CV Leo,
9 Lemoore Lions, 6 Parlier Lions, 5 Fresno Host Lions, 2 Fresno Unlimited
Lions, 2 Selma Charter Lions, 1 Hanford Breakfast Lion and 30 guests
totaling 75! Outcome is 5 prospective Lions! Of course the mai tais were
good, too.
120 backpacks were delivered to all of the 8 elementary schools in Selma.
That’s 15 each. They were very well received. I want to give a big Lion
thanks to the following who donated to this project – Lions Virginia Lees,
Dale and Eva McAnulty, Will and Mimi Cho, Mike and Eshelle Valverde,
Pam Kroeker, Debbie Olson, Isabel Corral, Mary Allen, Tim Allen, Steven
Nicacio, Betty Standridge, Max Abe, and Bev Cho. Thanks to Lions Carol
Mar and Virginia Purkey for buying the school supplies and donating some
of it as well! Great project!
If there is a need around us and we can help, let us know. We have
projects in progress for August. We will be donating materials to build a
ramp for a cancer patient. Our Lions Steven and Tim will be donating their
labor. Lion Meekayla’s coworker had a fire and had to move into an
unfinished apartment. Her family of 4 need a lot of things so we donated a
$250 Target card to help. Lion Meekayla will see what else they need. It
may be something we already have in our homes to share.
Great to be a Lion!
