Centre for Development of North Eastern Region of IIM Shillong erstwhile 'Accelerated Learning Centre' was established in 2008-09 with the purpose of contributing to the local community and the region in a meaningful way. More specifically the Centre is constantly working in the direction to foster an enabling ecosystem for youth entrepreneurship in the region through its different planned programme on few thematic areas. The focus remains on the leadership and managerial skills development of the educated unemployed youth of the North Eastern States of Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim under the short-term and long-term capacity development programme of the Centre.
Youth comprises a significant percentage of the total population in the North East India. The ill effects of unemployment of a large section of educated youth has adversely impacted the overall growth and development of the region. Thus the humble efforts of CeDNER IIM Shillong, over the years has proved to be quite relevant and useful as evident form large number of youth participation in our programme. CeDNER offers both short-term module and long-term certificate programme keeping in mind the requirement of the market and the society, the affordability of underprivileged section. Hundreds of participants are already benefitted from the CeDNER programme and successfully running their own enterprises.
I wish the enterprising youth of the region will encash this rare opportunity, offered by IIM Shillong and derive maximum benefit in their carrier development process in order to establish a model self-reliant and sustainable society in India.
