COMPETENCE – the meeting for Mapping of Centres of
competence within the Smart specialization strategy and
determining criteria for the establishment of Centres of
competence in Croatia was held on 25 April 2014 in
Dubrovnik.

Results so far in Croatia
As a result of consultations a model for Centres of
Competences that would facilitate research is adopted.
Centre of Competences should be established by
cooperation between industry, local community and
research organizations. All mentioned stakeholders have
to be involved in running such Centres – corresponding
to CreativeMED model
Series of workshops followed and it is still under way
where stakeholders contribute in planning and policy
making
First requests for proposals are expected in early 2015
