1/9/17 USA is a nationally recognized environmental construction contractor that provides services to Fortune 500 clients across the United States. Last year we booked just over $100MM in revenue and we currently have 340 employees across the U.S. Our major office centers are located in New Jersey, Colorado, and Deer Park (headquarters). We offer construction services on environmental projects that include remedial construction, ecological restoration, decommissioning/demolition, radiological material management, and waste management including transportation and disposal.
Most of our construction projects have a heavy civil bias, and our project engineers typically come from the civil engineering disciplines. Their day to day activities include interface with design firms such as AECOM, CH2MHill, and ERM to name a few. In addition to working with the design firms, our list of work includes projects for British Petroleum (BP), Dow, and ExxonMobil.
Our current need is for a major project in Freeport for a radiological materials management job that will continue on into 2017. The job has been underway for well over a year now, and the additional work just released to us will require us to add a project engineer’s position to our current staff. That position has just now been approved/funded, and we would like to fill this slot with a civil engineer that is interested in heavy civil construction.
I’ve asked my Project Director to put together a more formal job description, and we should have that info to you early this week. It’s really exciting to start adding younger talent to our team, and I’m looking forward to working with you through that process. We have been very pleased with our TAMU internship/Co-op program over the last 4 months and we would like to continue this process. Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but here's the intern job description. I really appreciate you being willing to send it out to the engineering students. We have really enjoyed all the A&M students we have hired as interns. I think we will require at least 2 interns this year because one of our big projects under way is the McKinney ISD football stadium - LOTS of concrete and steel!
I don't know if I have shared this with you in the past or not, but whenever the kids are getting ready to leave at the end of the summer, I have a short exit interview with them. I always ask them what is the one thing that surprised them about their experience on the sites where they worked. To a person, they ALL answered something to the effect of "I never knew there were so many problems that come up on job sites every day!"
I worry sometimes that engineering students today in the construction-related fields whose only exposure is the classroom and computers think that's all they have to do - create a model/design of some sort and it will just automatically be done correctly. So I am glad that our interns get some real-life exposure to construction sites and experience in the frequent adjustments that often have to be made AFTER the designs are done.

We are looking for civil engineering students that have a superior work ethic, a great attitude, and the desire to gain actual design experience before graduation (Freshman through Seniors are welcome to apply, Seniors must be willing to delay graduation until May 2018 if planning to graduate in December). G&M maintains a full-time staff of professional engineers and surveyors that work closely with the Co-op students to provide what we feel is the best hands on civil engineering design experience available to them. Co-op students at G&M are integral to the design process and will be working on real projects with real deadlines and budgets.
The secondary purpose of the co-op program with G&M is to establish long-term relationships with the highest caliber of engineering student. Most full-time members of our staff began their careers as co-op students, including a handful of Aggies. Since G&M implemented the co-op program, over 80 college students have gained invaluable experience that they have utilized to begin successful careers in civil engineering. The primary benefit to the co-op student is the experience gained before graduation, but the co-op students that work for G&M are also paid an hourly wage plus time and a half for overtime. Additionally, G&M provides free housing for our co-ops!

Thank you for taking my call today and helping me to find a potential intern from A&M for our summer job opening. Our Vice President, Tom Dayton, is an alumni of A&M!
We have a small firm of 15 employees. JVC has been incorporated for 7 years now and we have 2 locations. Our corporate office is located in Plano to take care of our Dallas clients and is managed by our president, Jay Volk. Our second office, managed by Tom Dayton, is in Southlake to take care of our Fort Worth clients. We have our own survey department with 2 survey crews. Our projects include both private and public, but our biggest projects are private residential communities.
The intern position would be at the Plano location working directly with our president’s team and being trained by our PE’s and EIT’s. The majority of the job would be working in 2017 AutoCAD Civil 3D, but there would also be opportunities to experience other parts of the engineering process such as collecting tax certificates and delivering submittals to municipals.

Thalle Construction has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer in the DFW Metroplex. The Engineer will report to, collaborate with and follow the direction of the Project Manager. Thalle Construction is a diversified heavy civil construction company with projects across the Mid-West and East Coast of the U.S. Position/Location: Project Engineer. Local office is in located in Mansfield, TX.
Job Duties:
Assist in project start up, including quantity take offs, baseline CPM schedule work, vender and subcontractor buyouts/ negotiations
Perform daily reports and monitor daily work activities for production/ schedule tracking. Create and manage pertinent construction documentation such as Submittals, RFI’s, Change
Orders, Notifications and Correspondence. Strong ability to command daily/ weekly and monthly meetings
Strong writing and verbal skills pertinent in developing client, owner, subcontractor and vender relations.
Review plans and drawings for Heavy Civil projects Prepare estimates according to budgets Set and oversee construction schedules Manage Jobsite document control with assistance of Project Administrator.
Requirements:
A 4-Year College Degree or equivalent project engineering experience in civil contracting (or related industry) is required. A degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.
At least 2 years relevant experience in project engineering in heavy civil Primavera CPM Scheduling, or similar, and CAD knowledge is preferred construction
Strong ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Good verbal and written communication skills & experience managing work teams Able to multitask and work independently under pressure and tight deadlines Background check and Drug Testing required
