About the course
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the minimum qualification for trainers and assessors delivering accredited training in Australia. It focuses on developing the practical skills and knowledge, techniques and tools to
Properly plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate training and assessment activities.
TAFE Western offers scholarships to Aboriginal people to participate in training to teach for us.
What will I learn?
You will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to competently perform the role of an independent skilled trainer, facilitator and assessor in an AQTF environment in the workplace and the VET Sector generally. You will be able to:
• Create a meaningful learning environment
• Design learning processes and products based on training packages and curriculum
• Develop the skills and knowledge to manage the learning process
• Develop skills in assessment
• Provide individual and group learner support and consultancy services in training and or assessment
• Coordinate trainers/assessors in their work and develop quality assurance systems
What will I study?
You are required to complet ten units of competency made up of seven core units and three elective units to be awarded the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

How long will it take?
The time you take to complete the course will vary depending on factors such as the electives you choose, the delivery method, time available to undertake study, recognition of current skills or previous studies and your entry level knowledge and skills.
How can I study?
This course is delivered flexibly, part-time, via workshops or through a recognition pathway. You should contact your nearest campus for more details.
