About the Webinar Unleash the Power of Diversity for STEM Success
Date: October 9, 2014
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST
Webinar Summary What are the hidden costs of poorly relating to people who are different from us? These and many other questions are answered in Ms. Biswas’s thought-provoking book, Unleash the Power of Diversity, which introduces two original frameworks: (1) The Five Judgments: Analysis of Personal Brand and Stereotypes and (2) A Diversity Foray: Practical Global Toolkit for leveraging diversity for results. During this virtual book club style webinar event, Ms. Biswas led a discussion on her powerful new book, and inspired participants to leverage diversity effectively in an increasingly global world. To do this, we focus on increasing the enrollment, retention, and performance of underrepresented students in nontraditional careers through four lines of business.
Professional Development Professional development is designed to ensure access and equity in programs preparing students for college and careers by providing multiple options for awareness and skill building for educators, administrators, and counselors:
• One- to eight-hour or multiday workshops • Daylong to yearlong institutional and
classroom transformation programs • Online courses • Webinars, toolkits, and thousands of effective
practice resources from around the nation
