(15) Description

Module 4F-AI Ex HART, type 6ES7 138-7FA0.-0AB0 supplies and transmits analogue signals (0 ... 20 mA, of for instance transmitters) and realises HART communication. The module has four input circuits, which are galvanically connected with each other.

In combination with the Base-System of the intrinsically safe Distributed I/O System type ET 200iSP, certified per EC-Type Examination Certificate KEMA 04ATEX2242, the Power Bus circuit is executed in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ib IIC.The other circuits of the module are executed in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ib IIC, respectively Ex ia IIC.The power supply and the data transmission is realised by the Distributed I/O System.

The combination of the Base-System and the module is suitable for installation in potentially explosive atmospheres in which equipment of category 2 G or category M2 is required.

Only the input circuits may be extended into potentially explosive atmospheres which require equipment of category 1 G or category 1 D.

The electrical and mechanical connection between the module and the Distributed I/O System is made by means of a terminal module (TM-EM, certified per EC-Type Examination Certificate KEMA 04ATEX2242). By means of interconnection of TM-EM's, several modules can be installed and are by that connected to the same supply and data circuit.

After the first time a module is installed, the mechanical code assures that only the same type can be installed at that place. The input circuits must be connected to the terminals of the TM-EM. For terminal modules where more than one module can be connected, the electrical data apply to the terminals directly next to the module.

The enclosure of the module assures a degree of protection of IP30 when installed on the TM-EM. The module may be inserted and removed during operation as part of the Distributed I/O System, in accordance with the installation instructions below.

Ambient temperature range: -20 °C to +70 °C (horizontal mounting position),-20 °C to +50 °C (all other mounting positions).

Electrical data

Power Bus circuit (connected through TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ib IIC, only for connection to the Power Bus circuit of the Distributed I/O System.

From the safety point of view the module draws a current of 568 mA.

Data circuit (connected through TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ib IIC, only for connection to the Data circuit of the Distributed I/O System.

Input circuit (terminals 1 and 2 on TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ia IIIC, Ex ia IIC or Ex ia IIB, with the following maximum values: Uo = 27,7 V; Io = 98 mA; Po = 0,679 W. For Ex ia IIC: Co = 71,3 nF; Lo = 3 mH.For Ex ia IIB and Ex ia IIIC: Co = 649 nF; Lo = 14 mH.

In addition, the following values are allowed for circuits with concentrated capacitances and concentrated inductances in combination:For Ex ia IIC: For Ex ia IIB and Ex ia IIIC: Co = 43,3 nF and Lo = 0,8 mH; Co = 236,3 nF and Lo = 12 mH; Co = 58,3 nF and Lo = 0,4 mH; Co = 276,3 nF and Lo = 2 mH; Co = 71,3 nF and Lo = 0,2 mH. Co = 336,3 nF and Lo = 1 mH.

Input circuit (terminals 5 and 6 on TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ia IIIC, Ex ia IIC or Ex ia IIB, with maximum values identical to those of terminals 1 and 2 of this module.

Input circuit (terminals 9 and 10 on TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ia IIIC, Ex ia IIC or Ex ia IIB, with maximum values identical to those of terminals 1 and 2 of this module.

Input circuit (terminals 13 and 14 on TM-EM):in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ia IIIC, Ex ia IIC or Ex ia IIB, with maximum values identical to those of terminals 1 and 2 of this module.

The Power Bus- and the Data circuit are infallibly galvanically isolated from the input circuits, when the module is installed in the Distributed I/O System.

Installation instructions

1. The current listed at the electrical data of the Power Bus circuit shall be taken into account when determining the sum of the supply currents listed in EC-Type Examination Certificate KEMA 04ATEX2242.

2. The installation and instruction manual of the Distributed I/O System shall be observed for the insertion and removal of the module during the installation and the operation. Only the same type of module may be used for replacement.
