CFS 47: Agenda, Timetable, and Theme Doc No: BurAG/2020/01/28/01a Page 1 of 2 Introduction CFS 47 is from 12 – 16 October 2020. World Food Day celebrations are anticipated to take place on the morning of Friday 16 October with the CFS Final Report being adopted on that afternoon. This proposed Agenda and Timetable have been put together based upon feedback received on CFS 46 and previous sessions. Session Notes Most agenda items are self explanatory, as many are current workstream items under development. Ample time has been left on Monday for delegate statements. Wednesday afternoon is dedicated to two rounds of Side Events of 1.5 hours each, with four each in parallel. The regular morning, lunchtime, and evening rounds of side events would also be capped at four in parallel, allowing for a total of 48 side events during the week. Agenda Item VII: CFS and its contribution to the Food Systems Summit in 2021 is proposed for Thursday afternoon. This session, drawing upon the HLPE Report (#15 – June 2020) “Food Security and Nutrition: Building a Global Narrative Towards 2030”, would take advantage of high level participation in World Food Day on the following day. A panel would be invited to discuss uptake of the CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition and other CFS policy work in advance of the planned Food Systems Summit in 2021. Suggestions are welcome for high level/transformative speakers who might be invited to address specific topics on the agenda. Theme In recognition of the CFS guidelines and the upcoming Food Systems Summit in 2021, the proposed theme for CFS 47 is: “Transforming Food Systems to End All Forms of Malnutrition”.
