Full Time Middle Years Music Teacher for Band and Chorale The Calgary Girls’ School, a public charter school serving approximately 600 girls in grades 4-9 on two campuses has an immediate opening for a full time, continuing Music Teacher. Classes consist of grades 6 – 9 band and chorale on one campus. This is an incomparable opportunity to build on the brilliant legacy of our previous music teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate in supporting music education as a core, essential program for developing confidence and competence in young women. The candidate wants to sustain and build on the exceptional existing band and chorale programs. The person will enjoy collaborating with the grades 4 -5 music teacher at the second campus to ensure continuity of program and progression of skills. The person will conduct a minimum of two band and choral concerts each school year. Qualifications: Must hold a valid Alberta Teacher Certificate (or Canadian equivalent from another province) and candidate must pass a Child Welfare and Criminal Record check. Kodaly philosophy and concept training is an asset. The Calgary Girls’ School offers a competitive compensation package.
