Stephens is the first state officer for CGTC. Stephens is currently in Kanas City, Kan., representing CGTC and SkillsUSA of Georgia at the National SkillsUSA Competition. After working in retail for a number of years, she decided to start a new career, which led her to the Radiology Technology program. “Being a single mother of two, I needed more stability,” Stephens stated. In Stephen’s leadership role, she will advocate for SkillsUSA and technical education. Stephens stated that, “The American public needs to learn about the need for skilled workers and how they're educated. SkillsUSA helps to put technical education in a more positive light.” About SkillsUSA SkillsUSA is an applied method of instruction for preparing America’s high performance workers in public careers and technical programs. It provides quality educational experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development.
