Organizational success demands that boards not only develop the leadership they need today, but also build the leadership of tomorrow. Chair with Intention is our 1.5-day course for current and incoming chairs. Participants network with peers facing similar issues to develop their chairship - the skills, practices and approaches that differentiate board leaders from meeting administrators. IN THIS COURSE, PARTICIPANTS WILL: − Clarify the role and responsibilities of the chair − Understand the character, competency and practices of impactful chairs − Assess personal strengths and areas of improvement − Identify practices and processes that can help you become a stronger chair − Understand how to manage relationships with stakeholders − Assess relationship with management and understand how to improve this critical relationship − Start thinking about chair succession WHO SHOULD ATTEND: − Current, incoming and aspiring chairs − Committee chairs PRE-COURSE WORK: Participants complete an online survey to assess their board and chair experience and perception of personal and board practices and performance. Participants receive the Chair at the Table, a snapshot of the cohort including: − Board and chair experience and demographics − Participants’ perceptions of key chair stewardship activities and performance − Key themes and opportunities WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE?
