Dear Golfers and Gala Dinner Guests,

A warm welcome to our new look ACI Singapore Charity Golf and Gala Dinner Ball! On behalf of the ACI Singapore Executive Committee and Charity Golf 2017 Organising Committee, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you for your kind and generous support. The ACI Singapore Charity Golf & Gala Dinner is now firmly established as our industry’s premier Charity Event. Over the last 24 years, this event has brought hope and touched the lives of numerous people in need.

We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our Guest of Honour Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam for his generous support, encouragement and presence. DPM Tharman has been a strong supporter of the ACI Singapore Charity Golf event and his presence each year has also been a great source of encouragement to the many ACI members who have volunteered their time faithfully each year to organising this event. Together with you, our Donors and Sponsors, we share a common desire to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in our society.

We are also delighted that Mr Ivan Heng of Wild Rice has kindly agreed to be the emcee for our evening gala.

We hope you have noticed some interesting novelty events during your round of golf, including a Beat the Pro Hole where attractive prizes have been generously offered by Paul & Shark.

We hope you have enjoyed your golf game and we wish you the best of luck for the attractive prizes, especially the Mercedes Benz hole-in-one prize. It is noteworthy that the last time one of our golfers achieved a hole-in-one and won a car at this event, I was also the Organising Chairman and it was held at the same New Course where our event is being staged. The precedent has been set and hopefully we can witness yet another hole-in-one this year. Finally, just a heads-up to everyone that 2018 will be ACI Singapore Charity Golf’s 25th Silver Anniversary year, and we look forward to seeing everybody again next year!

ABOUT ACI

Formed in 1973, we are the standard bearer for financial markets’ professionals in Singapore. Our history has been inextricably linked to Singapore’s emergence as a leading financial centre in the world.

ACI Singapore is affiliated to ACI - The Financial Markets Association, the global umbrella body of financial markets associations. This Paris-based body, founded as Association Cambiste Internationale, has more than 13,000 international members worldwide in more than 60 countries, making it the largest international association in the wholesale financial markets. It was founded in France in 1955 following an agreement between foreign exchange dealers in Paris and London.

ACI Singapore is an active participant in the ACI Global arena with Standing Committee Members elected to both the ACI Committee for Professionalism (which administers the Financial Market’s Model Code of Conduct) as well as the ACI Board of Education. Since the end of 2009, ACI Singapore, in partnership with the Singapore Management University, has developed a Financial Markets training roadmap for Treasury Markets professionals in the front, middle and back offices. This underpins the Association’s commitment to the continuing education and professional development of our members and the industry.

As the Industry representative for Financial Markets Professionals, ACI Singapore is also proud that for the past 23 years, we have raised over $10 million for the less fortunate in our society through our annual ACI Charity Golf tournaments. This charity drive is now well recognised as a fixture in the annual calendar, and is widely and actively supported by our members, the dealing fraternity and financial institutions.

LOVING HEART MULTI-SERVICE CENTRE (JURONG) Founded in 2004, Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre (Jurong) is a voluntary welfare organisation currently serving the residents and students in the Jurong GRC, Bukit Batok SMC and Yuhua SMC. Through various school-based and community-based projects, the one-stop service centre aims to better serve ever-evolving needs of the community and promote bonding amongst its residents.

NEW LIFE COMMUNITY SERVICESSeeks to mentor the next generation of youths and children to master life’s transitions so they may be able to make a positive contribution to their homes and society. Established in 2000, New Life’s services include childcare, student care, children and youth programmes, caseworks and counselling & financial assistance.

REACH COMMUNITY SERVICES SOCIETYREACH Community Services Society (RCSS) is a registered charity since 1999, and an IPC since 2009. The Society seeks to inspire hope and empower positive change in needy families, youths and lonely seniors in the Community through her four core services – Family Service, Counselling Service, Youth Service, and Senior Service.

ST. ANDREW’S MISSION HOSPITALSt. Andrew’s Community Hospital (SACH), a service of St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital, provides subsidised inpatient rehabilitative and sub-acute inpatient care for adults and children after their treatment at acute care hospitals. SACH seeks to help patients regain daily living functions before they are discharged back home. SACH also provides post-discharge care through its community therapy and home care services. Last year, SACH served more than 8,000 people.

TAMAN JURONG CCC COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND WELFARE FUNDThrough the many social and educational programmes, Taman Jurong CCC Community Development and Welfare Fund (CDWF) helped children coming from less privileged families. Although these children started with less as compared to their peers, they can be assured that they will have the fullest support from the community in their schooling needs.

TEMASEK POLYTECHNICSituated next to Bedok Reservoir, Temasek Polytechnic is a leading institution of higher learning. Established in 1990, it has gained a reputation for being a vibrant polytechnic. Students have access to many state-of-the-art facilities. These facilities augment the education its students receive to ensure they graduate as well-rounded, industry-ready professionals.

W!LD RICEFounded in 2000 by Ivan Heng, W!LD RICE is recognised today as one of Singapore’s leading professional theatre companies.
