GEDDES FEDERAL SAVINGS was honored to once again receive a 5 star rating from the Bauer Financial Group and was also named a top lending institution by Independent Banker, a publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America. The trade group for small U.S. banks represents 5,000 small and mid-sized financial institutions in the US. These honors came after another year of growth for Geddes Federal. According to bank president, Brian DuMond, “I believe a large part of our success is due to the fact that Geddes does not sell its mortgages. We hold every mortgage we write and we are quite successful at attracting qualified homebuyers. We’re local and accessible. When someone calls me, I answer the phone.” According to Independent Banker, “No community bank can be successful—for its customers, communities and shareholders--without safely turning people’s deposits into valuable and productive credit for others. Invariably, the most successful banks are those that consistently book the most solid loans.” Chairman of the Board, Daniel Mathews III, said, “Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association has been the trusted financial institution for the community since 1949. We worked with the parents and grandparents of our current customers, and we continue to welcome new customers into our family.” Geddes Federal prides itself on being a personal banker. Personal banking can mean many things. At Geddes Federal, it means having a receptionist to greet you when you come in and to direct you to the person who can best meet your needs. According to Brian DuMond, savings customers come into Geddes Federal looking for ideas to meet their short- or long-term objectives. “A local institution likes ours with deep roots in the community is invested in its customers and offers the kind of personalized attention they need. We recommend banking solutions that make sense for the customer.”
