Well its now July where did 6 months go

With the events cancelling all around its hard to believe that the time still flew past But this

weekend marks the time that we celebrate Independence Day

The Fourth of Julymdashalso known as Independence Day or July 4thmdashhas been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941 but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution On July 2nd 1776 the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson From 1776 to the present day July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence with fes-tivities ranging from fireworks parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues httpswwwhistorycomtopicsholidaysjuly-4th

There are a few things still happening this summer Travelers are flocking to the area ATV

riders are using the trails and visiting the resorts Resort reservations are up since last year

The state says Price County was only 1 of 12 counties to show increase in sales tax We have

three raffles going on there will be a pontoon boat contest on Butternut lake this Saturday

sponsored by BampB insurance The Farmers Market is off and running and City hall will be

opening back up on July 6th

The Chamber would like to say goodbye to AJrsquos Bar and Dining After 20 years of serving the

community they will be closing down Best of luck to Brad and all of the team You will be

missed

The Chamber also would like to say thank you to Pete Maynard for his years of service to

the Chamber Best of luck in your new adventures

Ambassadors News The ambassadors were out in full force in June after a long wait We had two very well at-

tended ribbon cuttings We finally were able to welcome Patchouli Gardens to there new

home and Welcomed new business Essential Shooting Supplies to there new Park Falls home

Congratulations to both and hope that they are here for a very long time

Membership News The Price County Committee will be meeting soon to look into the possibility of a combined

chamber for the county Members that will be representing Park Falls are Tammy Hastings

Tara Tervort and Katie Freiburger Phillips and the rest of the county are being assembled

now

tended ribbon cuttings We finally were able to welcome Patchouli Gardens to there new

home and Welcomed new business Essential Shooting Supplies to there new Park Falls home

Congratulations to both and hope that they are here for a very long time

Membership News The Price County Committee will be meeting soon to look into the possibility of a combined

chamber for the county Members that will be representing Park Falls are Tammy Hastings

Tara Tervort and Katie Freiburger Phillips and the rest of the county are being assembled

now

Thank you to the members that have renewed their memberships We know that the times

are hard Especially now that you are struggling to keep your business running maybe even

teaching from home We greatly appreciate your sacrifices and hope you are all doing well
