Calling All New Members New Member Orientation to be held on Tuesday, August 8th
If you’re new to the Chamber we hope you’ll join us
for New Member Orientation on Thursday, August 8th
at 4:00pm. New Member Orientation is a great way to
get plugged in and learn about what the Chamber
can do for you.
Come meet the staff, introduce your business,
familiarize yourself with your Chamber benefits, and
get connected! We’ll have a brief presentation
covering all you need to know to start making your
Chamber membership work for you and of course
some afternoon refreshments. This is also a great
time to introduce yourself to fellow
new members and start
networking!

Members:
Thank you for your continued
support of our annual New Teacher Coffee. On
August 8th we will host New Teacher Coffee at the
Strawberry Festival Grounds and welcome
approximately 250 new teachers to eastern
Hillsborough county. While this event helps acquaint
new comers to our community, it also gives local
businesses an opportunity to be involved in the
education of our children. Watching the donations come in from our members has been awe-
inspiring; we cannot thank you enough for your generosity!

Faith Christian Academy
On July 11th we held a ribbon cutting for Faith Christian Academy of Plant City. The school opened its doors in Plant City in 2012. Enrollment is open now and the school specializes in offering scholarships to assist parents in need of financial aid. They utilize the ABeka curriculum for all grades K-12, which has been proven to be highly effective in student engagement and educational retention. They recently were accredited by the International League of Christian Schools and the Florida League of Christian Schools.
Aflac Insurance Office
On July 13th we held a ribbon cutting for the Aflac office located at 102 South Evers Street, Suite 101, Plant City, FL. The Plant City Aflac location is the regional office for Brandon, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Kissimmee, Bartow, Sebring and beautiful Plant City. Their office is responsible for about 50 agents. They are mainly a training facility for some of the new agents and the office where they conduct the majority of interviews for candidates looking to join the company. Aflac is a fortune 500 company that has acquired many accolades.
Hometown Painters
On Thursday, July 25th we held a ribbon cutting for Hometown Painters. Hometown Painters is a family business serving Plant City and the surrounding areas. They specialize in residential and commercial painting and pressure washing. They take pride in their work and will treat your home or office like their own. Call today for your free estimate, 813-451-3544. Please join us in welcoming them to the Chamber and remember a member next time you need painting or pressure washing.
Sonny’s BBQ
On July 25 we held a ribbon cutting for Sonny's BBQ, located
at 1102 Goldfinch Drive, Plant City, FL. Sonny's does their best to serve the best BBQ around, cater events, host spirit events for churches and schools, and donate random acts of BBQ to show appreciation for our community. They serve lunch and dinner all day at a great price. Please join us in welcoming them to the Chamber.

New Teacher Coffee
2017 Hosting the annual New Teacher Coffee is our way of welcoming new teachers and principals to Plant City. This event helps acquaint teachers with our community and, at the same time, provides an opportunity for local businesses to be involved in the education of our children. Join us in welcoming the newcomers by volunteering, donating, or sponsoring this worthwhile event

In an effort to better serve you and to strengthen Plant City’s voice in Tallahassee, the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce is creating a new legislative committee. The
purpose of this committee is to gather information from our membership and garner support for our interests from our legislators before, during, and after legislative
sessions. All are welcome. This is an exciting time at the Chamber as we continue to evolve and increase the value we return to our members as we work collectively as
businesses building a better community.
