Business of the Month
Welcome to Paola Kay Gifts, a little shop wedged in the heart of the historic district of Fayetteville since March of 2012. Pronounced Pay-o-la after the owner’s great grandmother who she called Petie. A little history on Paola Kay... In 1940 Petie's husband purchased a fifty foot, hand crafted mahogany cabin cruiser from a prominent Tulsa oil executive who summered on Chautauqua Lake. Originally built in 1915 on Lake Michigan, the boat was brought to Western New York and was greatly admired by Petie's husband. He lost no time when hearing the boat was for sale and purchased the vessel for $500. He named the boat Paola Kay after his beloved wife. Together they spent many summers enjoying Paola Kay with family and friends. There are many tales about the boat and its adventures over the years. Rumor has it that Paola Kay still sails on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. In our shop, owned by Wendy Lee, you will find a balance of unique and timeless pieces, mingled with items that will tease your need to nest and hunker down at home. Sturdy articles for men and goods to please your hostesses and girlfriends; our goal is to make gift giving creative and refreshing. We pride ourselves on elegant simplicity and exceptional service and strive to carry Made in the USA choices. Paola Kay is a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce and is honored to have been chosen business of the month! Come visit us, around the corner from Tavern 104 and next to Chloe's Closet. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.

books and stories. Essentially, the Library is a book exchange where anyone can stop and pick up a book and bring back another book or two to share. Fayetteville Free Library and Green Lakes State Park have partnered to bring two little free libraries to Green Lakes. The micro-libraries will be located near the beach and near the campground and will be housed in struc-tures designed and built by community volunteers at the Fayetteville Free Library in the Fab Lab. The FFL Fab Lab is a unique and inspired “maker” space within the Fayetteville Free Library where you will find access to a multitude of equipment from hand tools, craft kits and sewing machines to laser printers to 3D printers. Sue Considine, Executive Director of the Fayetteville Free Library said “The concept of Little Free Libraries is to create and support open and easy access to reading materials in all areas and unlikely places. It is directly in line with the Fayetteville Free Libraries’ mission to provide free and open access to ideas, information and transforma-tive experiences.” Laura Tully, Park Manager of Green Lakes State Park said “I am so excited to be able to work with the Fayette-ville Free Library (FFL) to promote this unique service to our shared community. It’s an amazing opportunity for us. You are going to love it!” The target date to unveil the Little Free Libraries is May 7, 2016 which is also Parks and Trails New York , I Love My Park Day!
Fayetteville Free Library (FFL) and Green Lakes State Park are teaming up to bring Little Free Libraries to the Park this spring! Little Free Libraries is a worldwide movement to promote literacy and the love of reading. A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite
