CHAIR MESSAGE

Mission Statement “To facilitate, advocate and cultivate opportunities for the Lisle Area Business

Community”

On behalf of Board of Directors, I would like to welcome

you to 2020! As we transition into the New Year, I would

like to take a moment to look back at an outstanding 2019. Under the leadership of your 2019 Chair Annette Loritz and

Executive Director Jill Eidukas, the Chamber offered more

than 30 events for our members that were organized by one

of our twelve different committees. Thank you Annette and

Jill for your leadership and passion. I would also like to thank

the members of the Chamber and Lisle area business community. YOU

truly bring the value to the Chamber and without YOU we wouldn’t be as

strong as we are today!

As we kick off 2020 I would like to issue all of our members a challenge

that aligns with our mission: “to facilitate, advocate and cultivate opportuni-

ties for the Lisle Area Business Community.” This challenge is simple but it

requires YOUR commitment as we execute our business plans in 2020.

The challenge is to: 1. Facilitate new business opportunities for your fellow

Chamber members, 2. Advocate for consumers to support Lisle area and

Chamber member businesses and 3. Cultivate new relationships that may

turn into future business opportunities. Our community and our Chamber

are only as strong as the local area businesses.

Throughout the year I would personally like to hear from each of our

members about how YOU are embracing the challenge. Please email me

([email protected]) your Chamber experiences and

highlights from the challenge. Periodically, I will share your stories with the

members and will pick one story at the end of the year to receive an award

for embracing the challenge.

I look forward to seeing each of you at one of our events throughout the

year and wish each of you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

CHAMBER NEWS

Another year has flown by at the Lisle Area Chamber of

Commerce. At our Annual Meeting and Holiday party this

past December, Claudine prepared a slide show of all of our

2019 events. This has reminded me that we are an active

Chamber and active in the community. Each year I am

inspired to continue to grow this Chamber and enhance the

benefits offered to each and every member. With each year I

strive to improve and build on things learned and try

something new.

“A new calendar year means a boost in the paychecks of minimum-wage

American workers in more than 20 states, including Illinois, where new

minimum wage standards take effect in 2020. In February 2019, Governor

J.B. Pritzker signed into law the first minimum wage increase in Illinois since

2010. In Illinois, the 2020 minimum wage rate of $9.25 an hour takes effect on Jan. 1, 2020. It will reach $15 in 2025. The tipped minimum wage for

next year will be $5.55.” (By Nikki Gaskins, Patch Staff)

Don’t miss the State of the Village with Mayor Christopher Pecak, Thursday,

January 16, 2020 at the Sheraton Lisle from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. Register

online or call the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce at 630-964-0052. The

Annual Dinner Dance and Silent Auction will be held on March 6th, at the

DoubleTree by Hilton Lisle/Naperville from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm with Gregg

Eisel from Sounds Abound as our DJ. Six Chamber members will compete

in the Dancing with the Chamber Stars portion of the event. This year’s

theme is “An Evening in Paris, Ooh La La Lisle”. The DoubleTree by Hilton

Lisle Naperville will offer a special room rate for that evening. You will

receive an e-blast with a special preview price. And keep a look out for the

invitation being sent in the mail.

We are wishing each and every member a prosperous 2020!

Happy New Year!

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT - Dawn Roche

This month’s featured Ambassador is Dawn Roche of Allegra

Marketing│Print│Mail of Lisle/Naperville. Dawn is the Director of

Business Development. She joined Allegra about 4 months ago and

has been involved with the Ambassador Committee for about 3

months. At Allegra, her role is to build more awareness of their

fantastic company to their current clients as well as develop new

ones. In addition, her role has expanded to include the advertising

and marketing of their brand to the community and help distinguish

Allegra from the pack. Dawn has been in sales, marketing and

business development on and off for over 20 years in a variety of

different business arenas: advertising, newspapers, magazines, fitness, printing and office furniture.

Dawn lives in Naperville with her husband and 3 children (all 21 years old and in college!). Her triplets are

the highlight of her life. They inspire her to be a better person and to “show up” when she wakes up. Her

other passions include downhill skiing, fitness and gardening. She teaches a variety of fitness classes at Fort

Hill in Naperville. She is also on the board of her ski club in Downers Grove, Piccadilly Ski Club, and a

member of the Northern Illinois Hosta Society. She has over 175 different kinds of hosta.

While still a newbie on the Ambassador Committee, Dawn enjoys getting to know the chamber members

and seeing how we can impact new businesses and help them grow. She enjoys the collaborative

environment that the Ambassador Committee has created and she is looking forward to being more

involved. Dawn tries to read motivational materials whenever possible, and a couple of her all time

favorite quotes are from Zig Ziglar: “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough

other people get what they need.” and “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.”
