Through the years, rings have played an essential role in our culture. Class rings began in 1835 thanks to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Then, later in 1922, the very first championship ring was given to the 1922 New York Giants for winning the World Series. In 1940, “cocktail” rings and fashion rings became popular and have since made a resounding comeback in popularity. East Coast StrongThe Chesapeake Bayhawks have been a dominant presence in Major League Lacrosse since its inception in 2001 and 2019 marks their sixth championship title.

They’ve selected MTM Recognition as the designer and producer of their coveted championship ring. Bob Saunders, Recognition Consultant, MTM Recognition said, “By listening to them and their needs, we were able to design an intricate championship ring that truly captured their unique story. The owner, Mr. Kelly was very impressed with MTM’s proprietary A.C.E. Technology and decided that he wanted to have one of the largest lacrosse championships rings ever produced. MTM is very proud of this design and we look forward to seeing this gorgeous championship ring proudly displayed by the owners, staff, coaches and team members.”

The design was recently unveiled to the champions and met with applause and excited anticipation. The sterling silver/platinum hybrid ring features several sparkling gems, six sapphires, one to represent each championship, the Bayhawks logo on the bezel, and inside each ring the scores of the championship games are engraved for an added special touch. There is a matching pendant to complement the ring and to accommodate individual style.

We are proud to work with MTM Recognition to commemorate the Bayhawks’ fourth MLL Championship title under Brendan Kelly’s ownership. This year being the sixth Bayhawks’ title of all time, we wanted this ring to tell our story.
