ELECTRO-CHLORINATION PLANT

Three (3 X 50%) Centrifugal Pump in duty ½ - Stand-by mode are installed in the electro-chlorination building to feed the electro-chlorination system with the required sea water flow and pressure.

Changeover Pump

- To stop the pump changeover to standby pump if necessary, or just switch off the pump and isolate the discharge and suction.

- Start the standby pump as per the procedure given above, check for the healthiness of the pump, and stop the other pump. Opening discharge valve of started pump and closing of valve of other pump to be stopped thread by thread is recommended.

Changeover pump B to C

- Prime pump- Switch on the moto pump- Run standby pump opening suction inlet valve and discharge outlet valves and starting the

standby pump C- Switch off moto pump B- Isolated discharge valve closed pump B- Isolated suction valve closed pump B - Prime pump- Drain

Ensure open suction, check the DP gauge in strainer, Check the oil level in the feeder, check for the freeness of the shaft, check for seal/flange leaks, prime until the process fluid comes through the line, and close the vent. Stroke check pump for checking direction of rotation.

Start the pump and line up discharge slowly. DO NOT PRIME IN RUNNING PUMP. (To prime the pump when running, stop the pump, prime and restart). After start up, check for abnormalities. (Sound, casing temperature, flow, level in oil feeder.
