The deductible is the amount you must pay before your insurance begins to pay.

In an HDHP, the individual deductible does not apply to a family plan. A family must meet the entire family deductible before the Plan begins toPay for any services.

The Out-of-Pocket Maximum is the most you will ever have

to pay for health care services in any given year.

In an HDHP, the individual out-of-pocket maximum does not apply to a family plan. A family must meet the entire family out-of-pocket maximum before the Plan begins to pay at 100% for covered services.
