STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

General Information

As always, we expect you to be excellent ambassadors of Center Grove High School. Please dress appropriately, use appropriate language, be gracious competitors and exhibit respectful attitudes towards all adults.

The dress code is the same as in the CGHS handbook with the following exceptions: You may wear tank tops and shorts must be of a tasteful length. If you have a question regarding what is considered tasteful, ask Mrs. Dice.

You must have the following numbers in your phone: Mrs. Dice: 258-1992, Mr. Norman: 809-4349, Mrs. Slauter: 412-3135, and your chaperone.

If you have any need or issues please contact your chaperone first.

If you are not feeling well please let your chaperone know as soon as possible so you can be helped.

Hotel Considerations

Remember this is a hotel full of other guests who are here on business or vacation. There is to be NO running, loud noises, slamming of room doors, etc.

Boys ARE NOT allowed in girls’ rooms and girls ARE NOT allowed in boys’ rooms at anytime or for any reason.

NO student(s) is allowed to leave the hotel premises for any reason without a chaperone in attendance.

When going to the pool girls must wear a cover-up and boys must wear a t-shirt while walking through the hotel. Girls’ swimsuits must not be white or a string bikini.

Please know when and where you need to be, know your schedule and times. Be respectful and check in at the required time. Please be respectful of your chaperone when they are trying to call or text you, answer promptly.

Lights out is to be observed. You have busy days. Go to sleep!

If you need something after bed check please call your chaperone and he/she will come to your room.

There will be nightly security patrolling the hallway from 11 pm – 5 am.

This is a competition trip again remember you are representing Center Grove High School, Greenwood and the State of Indiana. Please be respectful and courteous.

Failure to follow these expectations or exhibiting unacceptable behavior will result in disciplinary action by the directors.

Any student who takes part in any illegal activities or inappropriate behavior will be sent home immediately at the expense of your parents.

Finally, you have a great opportunity to compete at The Grand Ole Opry House, country music’s most famous home. Enjoy your trip and have a great performance!

CHAPERONE RESPONSIBILITIES

General Information

Please review the Student’s Expectation list.

Meet all students in your care for the trip and exchange contact info.

Take a picture of the trip itinerary or keep it with you at all times.

Do not be afraid to step in and stop any unacceptable behavior. If there is something you are not sure about or it warrants the director’s attention please contact Mrs. Dice: 258-1992 or Mr. Norman: 809-4349.

Hotel Considerations

While at the hotel, no student(s) is allowed to go beyond the hotel premises for any reason without a chaperone in attendance.

If your students plan to go to the pool, you will need to be in attendance with them.

Boys ARE NOT allowed in girls’ rooms and girls ARE NOT allowed in boys’ rooms at anytime or for any reason.

Do not be afraid to go into a student’s room if there is a problem.

All students must attend daily meetings prior to curfew.

At the final bed check each evening you are to have a face-to-face meeting with each of your students. No student will be allowed to speak on behalf of another student that he/she is present in the room.

If there is a problem after bed check, students are to call you on the phone and the chaperone will go to that student’s room.

We will place duct tape on the hotel doors, please pack a roll for yourself.

There is nightly security patrolling the halls from 11 pm – 5 am.

Please have face to face contact with your students each morning to be sure all are up, eating and getting ready for the day.

On the last day at the Gaylord, please check your students’ room to make sure no item(s) is left behind and that the room is cleaned up.

Again, if you have any problems with any student(s) in your group please let someone know so that it can be dealt with in a timely fashion. We appreciate that you are taking this time to help with this trip. We want this to be an enjoyable trip for All!
