Aspire Creative Enterprises is proud to introduce Chaperones, a cultural heritage programme for international students. Chaperones offers your school the opportunity to bring a party of up to twenty young people aged over fourteen years of age and four attached teachers to the UK to participate in a week-long programme of activities in schools and cultural centres across Liverpool and the North West.

Young people taking part in Chaperones will participate in a series of events at cultural organisations such as the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres, the Bluecoat Arts Gallery, Liverpool World Museum, The Unity Theatre, Liverpool Philharmonic, FACT (the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) and Tate Liverpool. They will also have the opportunity to visit schools in the region where they will meet local young people and teachers.

The cultural heritage visits will take place in the mornings of the project. The afternoons will be focused on English teaching with the involvement of local teachers and students who themselves wish to learn about other cultures. In this way, both English and international students will chaperone each other in the learning of each others languages and cultural practices.

A full social programme will be provided for visiting students and their accompanying teachers. This will include visits to theatres, dance companies, films and of course the football teams in Liverpool and Everton.

Students will be able to make contacts with local artists, cultural workers, teachers and young people to ensure that links are extended beyond the one week initial visit.

Aspire Creative Enterprises provides arts education, training and knowledge throughout the world. We work at all stages of education from early years to higher education and we believe passionately in life-long learning. We provide curriculum enrichment programmes, out of school activities and training for teachers and school staff.
