Oral Evacuation

• Saliva ejector– Placed in patients mouth

• Preventive procedures, such as cleanings or sealants or orthodontic bondings, etc.

• HVE– Know how and where to place each– Keeps the mouth free of saliva, blood, water and

debris– Retracts tongue, cheek– Reduces bacterial aerosol from handpiece

Rinsing the Oral Cavity

Isolation of Teeth

• Cotton roll isolation

• Cotton roll holders

• Dry-angle isolation

• Before removing any of the above, water should be applied, to loosen the cotton from the mucosa, thus not damaging the tissue

holes• 5 is the largest and used for the clamped tooth• 1 is the smallest
