President’s Message Regan Barry, Chapter President, [email protected]
Season’s Greetings fellow members of our Central Coast Chapter of the CLCA. I am Regan Barry from Coastal Evergreen Company, taking over the reins as your President for 2013. If you would have told
me three years ago that I would be in this position I might say that you had been spending too much time at one of our local pot dispensaries. But lo and behold, with a lot of support, I decided it was my time and my turn to be part of our Central Coast Chapter tradition.
I want to thank our Immediate Past Pres ident for h is two year incumbency, Andrew Tuckman of Vision Recycling. Anyone who has been involved in our chapter’s work will tell you what an amazing force Andrew is; from navigating the changing landscape at state level to all of the details required for our chapter’s business, Andrew has kicked [butt]! Let’s tip our hats to him when we get the chance.
Each new year our chapter starts
with nominating a new Board. With the exception of our new Associate Member Representative, Rob Leur from Bamboo Pipeline taking over for Matthew Romsa–also from Bamboo Pipeline, we are fortunate this year to have held over last year’s Board. Rob will be a great addition to our Board as we look to strengthen growth and participation from our associate members. Welcome aboard, Rob. I’d also like to thank Matthew for all of his service to our chapter and wish him the best in his new ventures.
In addition to choosing our Board we have laid the foundation for this upcoming year’s events. Check your monthly newsletter to keep up on a very active and exciting new year for chapter and state events.

President’s Report–continued from page 3
To help us manage the various functions affiliated with producing events and garnishing support through our Associate Members and Partners, and also to help us create a current data base that will be relevant from year to year, we have hired Laura Leur. We are thrilled and appreciative to have Laura as part of our team. Her participation will help alleviate some of the pressures on our board and committee members. Welcome Laura.
My goal in wanting to be your president is to support a successful, fun and growing chapter. I hope to know current CLCA members better and to find out what keeps them excited about participating in our chapter and what has kept others away. In addition, I would like to reach out to C-27 non-members and
share the value I have found by being involved in the CLCA. I have discovered that, through my experience with the CLCA, my own company has become a more professional and prosperous business with optomistic expectations for our future in this inspiring industry.
I’m looking forward to learning more through participating on the state level and to working together with other chapters to make us stronger, more effective and continually relevant. Because of our past leaders and the foundation that they have conjointly laid for the Central Coast Chapter, we have an organization that we can be very proud of. My promise is to continue in their footsteps and work hard for all of us. Get ready! Next year is going to be AMAZING.
Many, many thanks to our Board:Immediate Past President : Andrew TuckmanPast President at Large/Photographer: John DavidTreasurer: Laurie ReilyVice President of Membership: Mike RuscoeVice President of Education/Scholarship: Dinah IrinoVice President of Public Relations/Secretary: Jerry AllisonAssociate Member Representative: Rob LeurDirector of Communication: Andrew TuckmanChapter Laison: Chris ElliotNewsletter and Web Editor: Ki Bowman
