Recall that you can select text on a web page, and then use an Accelerator to search for web pages with related information. You can add and remove accelerators to accomplish other tasks such as sharing the selected information with others. To complete this project, you will need the following file: New blank WordPad document You will save your document as: Lastname_Firstname_w7_03_Accelerators 1. On the taskbar, click the Internet Explorer button . 2. Navigate to www.fws.gov In the search box below the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service logo, type sierra nevada bighorn sheep and then click the Search button. 3. In the list of search results, click the Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep hyperlink. If that link is no longer available, substitute a similar link. 4. Select the text Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep, and then click the displayed Accelerator button . In the Accelerators list, point to All Accelerators, and then compare your screen with Figure 1. 6. In the lower-left corner of the Manage Add-ons dialog box, click Find MoreAccelerators. Maximize the Accelerators - Add-ons Gallery window.

7. Under Share on Facebook, click the Add to Internet Explorer button. In the AddAccelerator dialog box, click the Add button.

Facebook is a social networking website where people with similar interestsshare comments, photos, hyperlinks to web pages, and other information.

8. Close the Accelerators - Add-ons Gallery window, and then Close theManage Add-ons dialog box.

9. Click the Accelerator button , and then point to All Accelerators. Compare your screenwith Figure 3. If the Accelerator button is not displayed, reselect the text and repeat this step.

The Share on Facebook Accelerator opens a logon screen for a Facebook account andthen creates a link to the page so that you can post the information to your Facebookaccount.

10. On the Command bar, click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons. UnderAdd-on Types, click Accelerators.

11. Under Share, click Share on Facebook, and then click the Set as default button.

12. Create a Full-Screen Snip. Copy the snip, and then Close the markup windowwithout saving the changes.

13. Start WordPad, and type your first and last name. Add a new line, and then typeWindows 7 Chapter 3 More Skills 13 Add a new line, and then Paste the snip.

14. Click Save , and then in the Save As dialog box, navigate to your Windows 7 Chapter 3folder. In the File name box, type Lastname_Firstname_w7_03_Accelerators

15. If you are printing this project, print the WordPad document.

16. Exit WordPad, and then Close the Manage Add-ons dialog box. In the Sierra NevadaBighorn Sheep window, click the Accelerator button , and then compare your screenwith Figure 4.

Each Accelerator type can be assigned as the default Accelerator for that type. Here, theShare on Facebook Accelerator is now included in the default Accelerator list.
