Sexual Health ScreenCharter Medical have opened a sexual health clinic located in Smith eld. This discreet walk-in service o ers ull sexual healthscreens and emergency contraception 5 days a week Monday to Friday, rom 9 am to 5.30 pm.

Once you arrive at Charter Medical please take the li t to the 3rd foor and ollow the signs directing you to the ‘ ScreeningCentre’ where our admin team will mark your arrival. You will be looked a ter by our sta in a riendly relaxed personalisedsetting, while also respecting the integrity and con dentiality o each patient.

What Does a Sexual Health Screen involve?

You will be seen by a doctor or one o our nurse specialists who will take:

• A urine sample - tested or Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea• A blood sample - tested or H.I.V, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Syphilis

Please noteDepending on your symptoms, you may have swabs taken. Patients are advised not to pass urine or at least2 hours be ore the screen in order to attain the optimal urine sample or testing. I you are worried about aparticular exposure, and you have NO symptoms, it is advised to leave 2 weeks be ore you are screened.

Can I get the morning a ter pill?

Emergency Contraception is available 5 days a week Monday to Friday 9.00am until 5.30pm The morning a ter pill (M.A.P.) is a tablet containing a hormone called progesterone which can prevent pregnancy.It can work up to 72 hours a ter unprotected intercourse. The tablet is included in the price o the consultation(€75.00).This should not be used as a orm o contraception and cannot be taken more than once in the same cycle.
