Labor Law
Working paper applications are given at the school.
If between the ages of 16 and 18 there are certain hours you can work depending on whether school is in session or not in session. (refer to booklet)
Everyone must take and document a half hour break if working over 6 hours in a day.
Everyone must be paid at least the minimum wage.
Payroll Options
Paychecks will be mailed to your home address bi-weekly the following Friday after turning in your timesheet (because they are mailed on Friday, you may not receive them for up to five days depending on the postal service). If you do not receive your paycheck please contact your Retention Specialist.
If you have a bank account, paychecks can be directly deposited in your bank account on Friday mornings and can be accessed the same day (which saves you from waiting for your paycheck to come in the mail).
Direct DepositTo partake in Direct Deposit, you will need to
complete a direct deposit form, which you can get from your Retention Specialist and a deposit ticket from your bank with your bank account number on it ,OR a VOIDED check with your bank account number on it.
Address Changes
• Paychecks are mailed directly to your house, therefore it is necessary that if you have an address change, you notify your Retention Specialist right away.
Also notify Chautauqua Works of any address changes after the program ends because we mail W-2’s out in January and we want to ensure that everyone receives those in a timely manner.
