Summer of 2013 is here and manyhave already switched gears intorelaxation and quality family fun. This is a perfect time to coordinate some of the vacations and activities with college visits. Visiting the campus of any prospective college is vital and age appropriate for students in high school and particularly encouraged for next year’s seniors. Only through visiting the campus can the true feel of the atmosphere be experienced. The visit will be much more informative if an appointment with the admissions office has been made in advance. Be sure to request additional appointments with representatives from the departmental majors in which there is interest. Please make note of college and scholarship deadlines for schools of interest. Summer is also the perfect time for Seniors to also be preparing their resume so they are ready to hit the ground running when school begins in August.

When an organization is accredited by ECFA, it demonstrates its willingness to follow the model of biblical accountability.

A NOTE FROM SUPERINTENDENT NELSON HORTON…Once again the school year has flown by with too little time between activities and celebrations to adequately reflect

on the blessings, one by one, that our heavenly Father has poured out over the past nine months. His kindness toward us is overwhelming!

This issue of the CHCS News was nearly complete when I sat down to write this note. As I reflected on the topics covered in this school year’s final edition, I noticed that together they present a good overview of a well-rounded, Christ-centered educational program. There are articles celebrating student participation and success in athletics and academics, in addition to articles about CHCS students and staff supporting Missions, serving others, and being recognized for outstanding Christian character.

A review of the past school year clearly depicts what can happen as parents, faculty, staff and friends work together to glorify God through excellence by providing a Christ-centered environment where children can be trained holistically

in body, mind, and spirit! Our kids are fearfully and wonderfully made, and designed to be nurtured physically, mentally and spiritually to grow as Jesus did in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).

Behind each of the achievements and opportunities recorded in this newsletter, and behind each graduate that walked across the stage on May 19th, is a band of supporters and volunteers who have sacrificed time and money to provide a great Christian school. Thank you for participating in this grand adventure! I look forward to experiencing another exciting and fruitful year together in 2013-2014.
