It is very important to protect your skin year round! 5. If you have any eye cream that you like to use then you can apply it in the morning as well as the evening. If your makeup line has an eye serum you could use that instead of or in addition to the eye cream. To apply: Apply a small amount of eye cream to your 2nd & 3rd fingers, blend until it is like melted butter, tap under eye area, to the sides and on the lid. You should not rub this area as it is very delicate. Evening: 1. When you come home from school, work, or as soon as you can, cleanse your skin. This is particularly important if you are having breakouts. Always cleanse with lukewarm water. 2. Use your appropriate toner again. 3. Apply a heavier night moisturizer. Follow the application tips in Morning Step 3, above. 4. Apply your eye cream. Follow the application tips in Morning Step 4, above. For Morning or Evening: Use an exfoliating scrub 1-2 times per week if not using a daily acid serum. This can be done in the shower or at night. Avoid facial scrubs with nut shells as these do not have a uniform shape and can cause microscopic tears to the skin. If you are using additional products and are not sure when to use what always call your Esthetician. Remember to use exfoliating agents like glycolic or salicylic before other treatment items. Then clearer and lighter goes before darker and heavier.

Never share makeup! This is how infection is spread.

Wash your makeup bag every month or put plastic containers through the dishwasher on the top shelf.

If you have had some type of eye infection you should throw away any eye product that you have used, or you risk reinfection!

If possible all skincare products should be in a pump or container that minimizes contact with the air and your finger tips. This reduces the chance of contamination.

When it doubt - throw it out!

How to Clean Makeup ToolsGather all your makeup brushes together (including the small ones inside your com-pacts) and gently clean them one by one by swirling in your palm along with a small amount of liquid hand soap. Rinse in warm water until the water is clear. Squeeze the water out of the brush (gently - don’t squish) and lay on a washcloth or towel to dry. If the brush is round, maintain its shape by letting the brush part hang off the edge of the counter while it dries.

Makeup sponges should be washed every week and replaced once a month.

Keep a 50-50 mix of distilled water and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle on your vanity to disinfect brushes on a regular basis - simply spray with the solution and dry with a paper towel. You can also use this solution to disinfect your eyelash curler, tweezers, nail tools, and more. (And don’t forget about the Colorescience Brush Cleaner for your Colorescience brushes. It’s gentler on the brushes than soap or the alcohol solution.)
