The excellent results of WIRE & CABLE INDIA and Tube India International are a strong indication of the the thriving Indian wire, cable and tube sector. The industry in India depends greatly on the automotive, telecommunication and construction industries and the rapid growth of these sectors continues to increase the demand of wire, cables and tubes. In India, the building and construction industries along with the oil and gas sector are the leading marketplaces for pipes. major projects in the rail and air transportation, urban and rural sanitation, infrastructure, water distribution, irrigation and power projects, automotive and energy sector will result in additional growth and business opportunities in India. Indian companies have acquired global accreditations and certifications which make them prefered suppliers for most of the leading oil and gas companies in the middle East, North America and Europe. In 2014-15, the Indian economy will witness a growth of 7% GDP. This growth would be based upon consumption from user industries like agriculture, telecom, automobiles, infrastructure, oil and gas, amongst others. In fact, India has become the global pipe manufacturing center especially of SAW pipes due to its lower costs, high quality and geographical advantages.

Infrastructure There has been a high demand of ERW steel pipes due to the boom in infrastructure (e.g. new airports, metro lines, new age buses, telecom towers, pipelines and entertainment malls). TelecommunicationElectrical Resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes and tubes act as protection for cables. Both ERW steel pipes and tubes and seamless tubes are also suitable for telecom towers.Indian Economy Overview Part II
• As per the country census of 2011, of the 25 crore households in India only 46% have sanitation facility within their premises. To cover the remaining 54% households would require a huge pipeline infrastructure.
• of the 140 mm hectares of agriculture, only 40 per cent is under irrigation hence a huge potential for PVC pipes as well.
• The country’s natural gas pipeline network amounted to over 15,340 km in 2013 and a proposed expansion of 30,000 km is envisaged by 2018-19. To drive the domestic pipe demand, in 2014, the Government of India announced several measures in the oil & gas, solar power, water and sanitation space.
• Compared to advanced economies like the US, where more than 60% of petroleum product movement happens by pipeline, in India, currently, only 35% of product movement happens over pipelines.
• Currently, India’s crude oil pipeline network spans just under 9,460 miles and has a total capacity of 129.4 mmTPA. However, an additional 15,000 km of gas pipeline will be developed using the appropriate PPP models.
• The value of roadways and bridge infrastructure in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.4% between 2012-17, and reach USD 10 Billion.
As per industry estimates, the Indian real estate market is estimated to be approximately USD 78.5 Billion in 2013 and is expected to grow to approximately USD 140 Billion by 2017. The Government of India will help in the development of 500 cities, which would include cities with a population of more than 100,000 and some cities of religious and tourist importance.
AutomotiveAs per the details provided in the Automotive mission Plan 2006-2016, the Indian government is geared up to double the automobile industry’s contribution to the country’s GDP by 2016 and furthermore intends to create 25 million new jobs in the industry. Telecommunication
The telecommunications market in India is the third largest in the world and it is the fastest growing. This growth is being witnessed in the wireless and telephony sectors. Furthermore, in the Internet sector, the government is making endeavours to provide the rural regions of India with broadband connections.
Interested companies should not hesitate too long and should use the chance to join the biggest wire and cable exhibition in India.
