Checklist Before you leave for IIT Kanpur, please ensure that you have taken with you, the following: Documents þ Class X Pass Certificate (original) þ Class XII Pass Certificate (original) þ At least two attested photo-copies of the above two þ At least eight passport size photographs þ Cash Receipt of all payments made at the time of JEE Counselling þ Proof of family income to apply for various merit-cum-means scholarships; which include any one of the following: a) Income Tax Return b) Form 16 for the year 2008-09 : for government employees c) Affidavit þ Relevant medical reports : a) Hemoglobin Percentage b) ABO Typing c) Urine routine and Microscopic d)TLC e)DLC f)ESR Identity Documents þ Admit card of JEE-2009 þ Letter of qualifying JEE-2009 þ Admission offer letter from JEE-2009 Monetary Requisites þ Cash amount of Rs. 2,000 to be deposited towards Mess Advance þ Demand Draft (Registration fee) in the name of "Registrar, IIT Kanpur" or "IIT Kanpur" : þ a) General/OBC Rs. 24,642/- þ b) SC/ST Rs. 6,542/- þ Cash/draft for initial personal expenses Minimum amount of Rs. 1,000 for the opening of Bank Account Other Essentials þ Jogging Shoes for CPA (Compulsory Physical Activities) þ Pair of shorts/track pants þ Mattress, pillow, linen, alarm clock, umbrella, rain coat, etc þ Two locks (one for wardrobe with two keys, and one with two keys for room door) þ Students must know their blood group and the hometown pin code Students are advised to bring formal wear for the Orientation Programme. (Most of the items related to studies & other essential things are available in the campus)
